So minors can be told to kill themselves earlier by the state than they have the option for gender-affirming care? What happened to bodily autonomy one way or another... Can't believe anyone supports this.

Jesus Christ. These people clearly know how much authority the white coat brings with it and how much coercrive power that entails. This is horrifying.

In almost all cases of assisted suicide advocacy I've seen, it's usually people describing how hard it is for them to deal with a dying family member. I'm sure there are cases otherwise, but I have felt that this push for assisted dying isn't just a back door attempt to cull the disabled but just a way for people to feel better about not having to care for their chronically ill or dying family members.
In a rational and caring world we would offer the best palliative care possible to all people so that they would never have to feel like cutting life short is necessary to "ease the burden" on others. We would crush the nucleus of hate for those who do not or cannot work so that we wouldn't drive thousands to suicide just because it's "economical."
Almost everyone I've personally talked to who has supported assisted suicide wants it for themselves, and often have previously attempted suicide.
Perhaps there's a bit of bias in who I talk to about it, it doesn't exactly come up in normal conversation with non-terminal or non-suicidal people.
I will forever be ashamed that I bought into the hype and propaganda around Canada's introduction of this and was a tacit supporter of it. Seeing it as it is, fucking eugenics plan that's now spreading, is just abysmal.
I mean, it was sold as a way for Terminal patients with like a cancer or muscular disorder who would have to go through years of absolute torment and pain of living, but just not taking your meds would also be a slow an painful death.
It was sold as "Death has already opened the door for this person" not "Death would be a real relief on the budget, ol'chap"
So I don't blame you for falling for it, Capitalism corrupts everything, and even in death, they are trying to make sure you can't escape.
