Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --

-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --

-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today/ . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --

I didn't really want to keep spotlighting American domestic events as I had assumed that shit would calm down pretty quickly, but it appears that the Trump administration, including Musk, are determined to bring down the empire from the inside.

One of the most important lessons of ruling a country - and especially an empire - is to never, ever believe your own propaganda; and yet now we have neo-Nazi failsons disrupting parts of the imperial apparatus and causing general government mayhem because they actually seem to believe in libertarianism; that the state and the capitalists are somehow in opposition, rather than working in lockstep to maximise profit and boost American hegemony around the world.

I'm not so optimistic as to believe that a national collapse is FOUR DAYS AWAY, like those weird anti-China cranks often speculate - the US has at least a decade or two left even under these conditions. But consider the damage being inflicted in these past couple weeks, and extrapolate that over the next four years. Does any living American political figure possess the competency to halt - or even meaningfully slow - the already ongoing decline? And could they achieve power (or even be allowed to do so) after Trump's term is done?

Israel-Palestine Conflict

If you have evidence of Israeli crimes and atrocities that you wish to preserve, there is a thread here in which to do so.

Sources on the fighting in Palestine against Israel. In general, CW for footage of battles, explosions, dead people, and so on:

UNRWA reports on Israel's destruction and siege of Gaza and the West Bank.

Russia-Ukraine Conflict

Examples of Ukrainian Nazis and fascists
Examples of racism/euro-centrism during the Russia-Ukraine conflict

Sources:

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.
Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.
Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.
Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.
Simplicius, who publishes on Substack. Like others, his political analysis should be soundly ignored, but his knowledge of weaponry and military strategy is generally quite good.
On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists' side.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Pro-Russian Telegram Channels:

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

https://t.me/aleksandr_skif ~ DPR's former Defense Minister and Colonel in the DPR's forces. Russian language.
https://t.me/Slavyangrad ~ A few different pro-Russian people gather frequent content for this channel (~100 posts per day), some socialist, but all socially reactionary. If you can only tolerate using one Russian telegram channel, I would recommend this one.
https://t.me/s/levigodman ~ Does daily update posts.
https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday ~ Patrick Lancaster's telegram channel.
https://t.me/gonzowarr ~ A big Russian commentator.
https://t.me/rybar ~ One of, if not the, biggest Russian telegram channels focussing on the war out there. Actually quite balanced, maybe even pessimistic about Russia. Produces interesting and useful maps.
https://t.me/epoddubny ~ Russian language.
https://t.me/boris_rozhin ~ Russian language.
https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.
https://t.me/UkraineHumanRightsAbuses ~ Pro-Russian, documents abuses that Ukraine commits.

Pro-Ukraine Telegram Channels:

Almost every Western media outlet.
https://discord.gg/projectowl ~ Pro-Ukrainian OSINT Discord.
https://t.me/ice_inii ~ Alleged Ukrainian account with a rather cynical take on the entire thing.

Milei Declares Mapuche Ancestral Resistance a Terrorist Organization - Telesur English

Article

Indigenous leader Jones Huala denied that his organization is responsible for wildfires in the Patagonia region. On Wednesday, the government of far-right President Javier Milei announced that it will declare the group Ancestral Mapuche Resistance (RAM) a “terrorist organization.”

“RAM will be declared a terrorist organization. The National Security Ministry is already working on the case file,” presidential spokesperson Manuel Adorni announced. “The government has revoked three resolutions that granted land to so-called Mapuches. In our territory, the only flag that flies is the Argentine one,” he added.

Besides revoking land grants in the Mendoza province, the Milei administration also eliminated a community strengthening program that provided Indigenous communities with legal assistance for territorial claims. “In this way, the lands that were in the hands of terrorists are returned to Argentinians… The state was funding lawyers who acted against its own sovereignty,” Adorni asserted.

Last weekend, RAM leader Facundo Jones Huala defended acts of sabotage against infrastructure as a method of resistance against capitalism and its multinational corporations and landowners. However, he denied that RAM was responsible for the wildfires that have been spreading in Argentina’s Patagonia region since December.

“We have never done it, nor would we ever do it,” said the RAM leader. This group serves as the political-military arm of the Mapuche Autonomous Movement of Puel Mapu, an organization that claims ownership of Patagonian lands for Indigenous peoples. Nevertheless, Chubut Governor Ignacio Torres accused Jones Huala of inciting citizens to set Patagonian forests on fire, with 20,000 hectares having been affected by wildfires so far.

On Tuesday, Milei changed the name of the Security Ministry to National Security Ministry as a signal of strengthening the institution and supporting his minister, Patricia Bullrich.

Today’s news from Russia’s special military operation.

Russian forces fully liberated the Donetsk People’s Republic city of Dzerzhinsk (AKA “Toretsk”). The Kiev regime had used the area as a firing position to shell the nearby DPR city of Gorlovka for over ten years: https://sputnikglobe.com/20250207/why-russias-liberation-of-dzerzhinsk-toretsk-is-a-terrible-blow-to-ukraine-1121546570.html

Russian drone operators destroyed another US-built “Bradley” infantry fighting vehicle in the DPR (video): https://odysee.com/@Support4Z:b/%F0%9F%93%BD%EF%B8%8F-A-%F0%9F%87%AC%F0%9F%87%A7-%F0%9F%87%AB%F0%9F%87%B7,--%F0%9F%94%9EThe-%F0%9F%87%BA%F0%9F%87%B8-M2A2-ODS-SA-Bradley-infantry-fighting-vehicle%F0%9F%94%9E:8

Plus, a little economic news. Despite all the Western sanctions, the Russian economy grew by 4.1% in 2024 (a higher growth rate than that of the Western countries applying the sanctions): https://www.rt.com/business/612331-russian-economic-growth-mishustin/

Former President Bachelet claims that Lula de Silva suggested her to try for a third presidential term - La Cuarta

Brazil's President told her that he was very happy with his third term. ex-President Michelle Bachelet revealed that Brazil's current president, Lula da Silva, suggested her to try a third presidential term, just like him, who in 2022 returned to govern his country after almost 12 years of his second term.

The portal Ex Ante reveals that Bachelet participated on January 22 in the conservatory “Public Policies and Democracy: Challenges for the 21st Century”, organized by the Master in Management and Public Policies of the University of Chile, where she was asked if she would be a presidential candidate again.

Bachelet and Lula met on two occasions during 2024, the first one in Brazil on July 24, in the framework of a meeting of the Club of Madrid and the second one on August 5, when Lula visited Chile in the framework of a state trip, where he met with President Gabriel Boric, and where the PS militant participated in a protocol lunch.

When asked, Bachelet avoided giving a clear answer, but she said that she spoke with Lula, who recommended her to run for president for the third time, as he was very happy to govern Brazil for the third time.

I wonder what happens to Yunus' NGO Government now that USAID is shut down.

It was one of two major successful regime changes which happened under Brandon.

An update from México's president Claudia Sheinbaum: The tarrifs on México have been delayed by one month to March 1-4 2025, in exchange México will deploy 10 000 National Guard troops to the México - US border to combat drug trafficking, in particular fentanyl. The United States committed to working on preventing the trafficking of high powered weapons to México.

English translationWe had a good conversation with President Trump with great respect for our relationship and sovereignty; we reached a series of agreements:

    1. Mexico will reinforce the northern border with 10,000 National Guard troops immediately, to prevent drug trafficking from Mexico to the United States, particularly fentanyl.
    1. The United States is committed to working to prevent the trafficking of high-powered weapons into Mexico.
    1. Our teams will begin work today on two tracks: security and trade.
    1. Tariffs are put on hold for one month from now.

It looks like the threat of tarrifs, and potential military action, with the recent US Navy combat air patrols on the border, have extracted the first serious concessions from México. (unless you count the use of Mexican airspace for civilian aircraft deportation flights as the first). 10 000 Mexican National Guard troops being immediately deployed to the border is a more significant action than the US "committing to prevent weapons trafficking", which is just some nice words at the moment, no specifics or details are mentioned at this point. I wonder how long before we hear about concessions from Canada, I can't imagine them fighting this on their own. I think only China will hold out for long to be honest.
