It's such a tragedy that the best prosthetics are tied to private industry. There was a story a few years ago about a bionic eye company going bankrupt and all of the users- who survived an extremely traumatic surgery that removed their only other eyes- were left without basic access to the world. That IP not being public/opensource is telling that person they don't deserve to see because they aren't wealthy enough to afford an alternative. That is social murder. If I'm 70 and the only bionic legs that would let me continue hiking are locked behind profiteering, you've killed the only meaningful interaction I have with the world and nothing but retribution makes sense to me.

I just wonder what kind of piece of shit you have to be to sign up to be a repo man for medical equipment
Repo men and repo the genetic opera and many other movies and stories; do not create this very specific torment nexus.
Ultimately, damn the prosthetic company first and foremost, but I have mixed feelings.
Yeah my main immediate takeaway here is that there need to be some kind of open-source prosthetics
Logging into the Cyberlegs forum to write an essay about my legs being repossessed, then signing off with "still love the legs, though".
