This is the only response.

This is the way

I'm glad they took the time to protect the dog's identity!

Did a door materialize during the move only to later disappear? Might need to consult a holistic detective agency for this one.

The problem with a website full of nerds is that someone will beat you to even more obscure references haha

[-] Boozilla@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 years ago

I love that aspect of lemmy.

The ACKSHUALLY snipers, not so much.

[-] Peppycito@sh.itjust.works 12 points 2 years ago

I think we're seeing both sides of the problem.

[-] TokenEffort@sh.itjust.works 29 points 2 years ago

I'm glad they covered the doggo's face otherwise the baby would be doxxed

[-] Hikermick@lemmy.world 15 points 2 years ago

Is it a doxxhund? I can't tell

[-] fahfahfahfah@lemmy.billiam.net 3 points 2 years ago

Yeah that’s how we solved this problem last time I had it.

[-] Ioughttamow@fedia.io 1 points 2 years ago

oooh, I'd say bolt cutters too for the springs

the springs were a bit of a pain with the sawzall, so when my brother needed to get rid of his couch, I picked up some bolt cutters and it went through them ezpz. They didn't have that much tension on them

[-] fahfahfahfah@lemmy.billiam.net 2 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

The first couch I had to do this to maybe didn’t have springs…. The second was being removed from my house because my kid jumping on the couch had snapped all the springs in half so that wasn’t an issue to begin with.

It is now a load bearing sofa.

Yesterday I happened upon a blacked-out redacted bird on imgur. If a new trend is happening, life is going to be alright.

[-] SirHery@lemmy.world 8 points 2 years ago

This is about 5 years old.

[-] qyron@sopuli.xyz 8 points 2 years ago

Still funny. As if the bird was a dangerous perpetrator, in need of being anonimized, out risk of being recognized.

[-] Worx@lemmynsfw.com 4 points 2 years ago

Yep, that's how it feels when you get to my age

[-] wise_pancake@lemmy.ca 15 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Do you have access to a command terminal?

Deactivate gravity, then object clipping, reposition the couch, then enable clipping and finally set gravity back on.

You must do this in the correct order or else you and that couch are falling through the floor.

[-] lath@lemmy.world 11 points 2 years ago

There's a VP that could give it a good tumble, if you don't mind it getting stained.

Love the effort to protect the dog's privacy.

[-] Elgenzay@lemmy.ml 10 points 2 years ago

Speaking of moving sofas, I just learned the other day that a preprint was just released in November that, once formally reviewed, should solve the moving sofa problem.

So next time someone needs help moving a sofa you could just give them a copy of the solution

Sofa King has Gerbers on sale this week, half off! They had to cut them in half to get them into the store.

[-] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Is there an AR app for this yet?

This would be a perfect use case!

[-] AFKBRBChocolate@lemmy.world 8 points 2 years ago

I got divorced in my 20s and moved from a house into an apartment. I had this long sofa bed, and my buddies and I tried for like half an hour to get it into the apartment, which was off of a hall and then had a short entry hall itself. The couch was too long to stand up on the without hitting the ceiling.

Finally decided it just wasn't going to work. I thought it might be worth trying to disassemble some of the internal structure and cutting some upholstery seems, then reassembling and sewing, so I turned it upside down. Long story shorter, the arms were separate units, not sewn on, just bolted on, and without them it was short enough to go through the door on end. Wish I had realized earlier.

[-] dumbass@leminal.space 7 points 2 years ago

That dog is 100% shaming them for their failure.

[-] kokesh@lemmy.world 7 points 2 years ago

Are the idiots protecting dog's identities now? I saw recently a photo from someone's dinner. Everyone had black square instead of a face. Why to take the photo then?

[-] LovableSidekick@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Professional mover, mathematician, or performance artist?

[-] qyron@sopuli.xyz 1 points 2 years ago

Yes.

And a large tub of lube.

[-] devfuuu@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

instructions unclear. step bro stuck in the sofa now.

[-] ArbitraryValue@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

When my sister bought a couch, it wouldn't fit and so the building super "helped" her by ripping half of it to pieces in order to get it into her apartment. Then she made me put it all back together, which was rather challenging. At least the upholstery was still in one piece.

I'll have my revenge years from now when my sister wants to get rid of the couch. She'll try to break it up again and she'll realize that I put it together using heavy-duty screws rather than the little nails that the factory had used. That thing is not coming apart again.

[-] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 years ago

Screws are better for removal/replacement than nails, unless they're stripped. And she's gonna be doing it in the apartment where she can see what she's doing. She should thank you

[-] andrewta@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

So strip the heads next time? No problem. Pretty sure he can handle that

[-] rugburn@lemmynsfw.com 3 points 2 years ago
[-] BreadOven@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

Better get the big tub of petroleum jelly.

[-] FelixCress@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago
[-] BreadOven@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

How else are you going to lube up that couch?

I got that glitch once. You definitely need a professional or the couch might and up in a wall.

[-] ramenshaman@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Time to move

[-] Aggravationstation@feddit.uk 2 points 2 years ago

Whack it, from the side.
