Good for him, he should spend some time also doing some other things.
Luigi Mangione
A community to post anything related to Luigi Mangione.
This is not a pro-murder community. Please respect Lemmy.world ToS.
He should spend time out. Touch some grass. Jurors should be aware of nullification.
Nullification might not even be necessary. Several of the alleged photos taken had him have some minor differences that can tell me they are different person.
Sure
I got banned permanently off Reddit just for supporting him, that's what pushed me to find an alternative
Welcome! How did you hear about Lemmy?
Just did a bit of googling and it was recommended
Nice
Reddit moderators doing a 31 billion dollar corporation's bitch work for free.
Not only that but they're protecting the interests of people who make more money in a single year than they'll make in their entire lifetime.
Surely this would be the Reddit admins banning the subreddit? I can't imagine the mods banning their own subreddit, if that's even possible.
for free
I absolutely assure you that Reddit is getting paid for this shit. Spez doesn't lift a finger without a string attached.
they’re protecting the interests of people who make more money in a single year than they’ll make in their entire lifetime
They're the loyal dogs of the corporate elite because they get the scraps thrown from the table. And when you've got a $25T table, those are some very nice scraps.
The company is but the moderators are not employees of the company, they’re volunteers
the moderators are not employees of the company
A great deal of the moderation of popular communities has been captured by affiliated parties. The folks modding /r/marvel and /r/starcraft and /r/conservative aren't just schmoes who got to those handles first. They've been auctioned off to third parties with a vested financial interest in a particularly kind of moderation occurring on those communities.
I'll probably get downvoted for this but I feel like Lemmy is like the salty friend who can't get over their ex and gets off on the issues going on in their life without them.
Ehh, more like were are all hanging out at a local bar and the owner all of a sudden got a case of assholeism. Started going fucking nuts, screwing with food/drink quality and availability, started fucking over the servers and bartenders. We hate him and want all the good people to get out and the place to burn to the ground.
It's not weird or particularly unhealthy to look back at the person you were close to, but betrayed you, and realize that all of your interactions with them were actually them being an asshole, and the people who still support them are assholes too. Nor is it particularly unhealthy to have a bit of schadenfreude about the suffering of those who chose the asshole over you, while hopefully still having some sympathy and hope that they escape.
It's how I feel about Taylor swift fans, at least.
I don't disagree with you. However, when I see a post like this every day it gets old to me. Though to be fair, Lemmy content doesn't come from a single person and everyone on here is at a different phase in their journey.
And it's not like reddit isn't still relevant to us, you know? We also get bsky and twitter posts on here
Ok, but there's also post from 4chan, Xitter, Facebook, and everywhere else on the internet. Reddit, and now Lemmy, grab information and memes from literally everywhere so you don't have to.
There's always going to be a subject someone doesn't care for. Thankfully though, there's filters in most every app now. The ones further along in their Lemmy journey tend to use them instead of complaining about having to see things repeatedly.
It's not that simple. People want to participate where communities are, some are still largely on reddit. There's also the free labor active submitters do regarding submissions, and they decide on what platform they participate in.
People want to participate where communities are, some are still largely on reddit.
So much of the community atmosphere of the site has been undercut and replaced by automated accounts that generate content from historical human conversations. Like, straight up, whole content threads get lifted and shifted between posts to create the illusion of participation. If you've been on the site for a while, its downright surreal.
Between that and the militant banning of anyone who isn't an empty-headed twit or a reflexive cheerleader, there's very little human activity left on the site to speak of. You're not in a community, you're in a graveyard. Most of the people you're talking to are digital ghosts.
There’s also the free labor active submitters do regarding submissions
Less and less by year. Again, it can't be stressed how much of Reddit is entirely automated. A handful of accounts, often directly or indirectly managed by the source of the content, are doing the lion's share of the posting and commenting. Real human interaction is being minimalized. Reddit's real money isn't in posters anymore, its in lurkers. You're supposed to look, not touch.
Yes but this is not it.
We are here to discuss Luigi and how regime is steering the narrative. Reddit is a major social media platform so them supressing Luigi discussion is relevant. Plus a great opportunity to take reddits users;)
In this case, the ex is an influential person with millions of friends, so what they do matters.
And horrifically abusive.
Honestly I like these kinds of posts as it lets me know that I made a good choice to not go back to Reddit. Plus I can show these to people I know who still use Reddit which might push them away as well.
Brian Thompson was a mass murderer who deserved to die, as are his peers
MarioMangitwo?
Reddit has long ago passed the tipping point between content and commercial interest. They're only interested in being profitable, safe, and inoffensive for marketing partners. The life has gone out of it, it's just a product now.
What pisses me off is that there is no ready made platform ready to take the user exodus. Digg died basically in 6 months because reddit was ready and super duper easy to sign up.
Lemmy simply isn't easy to sign up for and understand for better or worse
Posting violent content? Aren't there literally gore subreddits over there where you can watch people get tortured?
Keep zooming to that grave Reddit
/freeluigi is still up
They suppression is brutal but y'all know what to do when any news drops.
Luigi is not guilty and it is a set up, but even if he did it, brain the parasite Thompson deserved it all
Can‘t even say Deny Defend Depose in that sub, and who knows what else can get you banned there. Saying BT deserved it, for sure would. Not blaming mods for that since they‘re just trying their best to keep it alive, but Reddit has been lost to any controversial discourse for a long time (it‘s why I signed up here originally).
Like yeah, I‘d like to have a moral argument with someone who thinks political violence is always wrong, but we ain‘t ever going to have it on there in a real way, cause if I don‘t self-censor my side of it, it‘s going to get me banned.
Im surprised r/freeluigi and r/luigemangionejustice havent been banned they banned r/mariosbro and r/freeluigi2 as well as some others. Our corporate overlords are pissing their $5,000 pairs of designer slacks. And look at the loosers on r/fuckluigimangione it would be funny if it wasn't so sad https://imgur.com/gallery/rbqSckH
Should someone try to point them to here?
Good luck... reddit admins/mods don't like lemmy references. Only attempt if you don't mind losing your account or permabans from whatever sub you post to.
They could always try koalanging the name, i.e. r/GreenMario or similar
