Add a false wall, have a secret room I can hide in.

Nice plan. Don't tell it to anyone...

Rent it for 2000$ monthly.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 week ago

That's a steal!

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago

Great price, but not a basement. NEXT!

It's a fairly nice one.

[–] [email protected] 42 points 1 week ago

That is asking to be blocked by a custom book case, with a secret room behind it.

Either an open closet or a reading nook, depending on how close it is to the front door

If it's directly adjacent the door then add some shelves and racks for shoes and jackets. Or a chair where you can wait for Uma Thurman to walk by while you hold a shotgun full of rocksalt.

Clearly a space perfectly designed for a classic Star wars cockpit arcade unit.

Mastabatorium?

[–] [email protected] 29 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Gaming area, or if you have a security system and smart home stuff I’d probably make it into a smart home centre with screens and controls for all the devices and security stuff

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

So a security office? Hur hur hur

that's where you keep the adopted children. stack them for efficiency.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

No, just Harry, yuo are a wizzard

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 days ago

you must mean slizzard, as in alcoholism

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'm using this as a place to go full-on feral

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Isn't that what all the other rooms are for as well?

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It's a smaller space with a lower ceiling--this quality is important to making a space to decompress

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago

Sure when you want a lowering ceiling it's to decompress... When I want one, oh noes he's a super villain trying to crush people.

3 degrees of freedom simulator chair and screens

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

What is that pink thing on the wall??

[–] [email protected] 22 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I was intrigued thinking it was some kind of hook but it's a fucking watermark:

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Fucking hell! Even the name is bland and stereotypical to the point of parody or, even worse, tryhard ironic self-parody 🤦

Custom 360 racing booth. Or a carnival Photo Booth. Or maybe add a half-bathroom if there isn’t one on this floor.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago

Gaming battlestation, with room for some work stuff too.

Hidden reading nook with bookshelf and cozy vibes.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago

Craft storage. Can store a good amount of yarn and household tools in there from the looks of it. Add some cute lights and a little rug.

If you have cats, you could make it their "bathroom" depending on the location. Put up a curtain, put their box, maybe even the littler and what not, back there, close the curtain. Just make sure the curtain is nice.

I would install more random wall plates for no reason and fake electrical outlets.

She may be a little too deka.

...we'll get rid of the stairs if we need to.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

First you need some galvanised steel beams, a single bolt and 100 mattresses borrowed from your aunt.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Which form factor would that be?

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago

From the 1960s, it uses vacuum tubes and weighs 7 tons

My first thought too. Throw in a few bookshelves, fill them up; waste of space becomes the coolest part of the house.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

Ergonomic editing/workstation with screens wrapping on that sloped part and reclining chair under it, colour calibrated etc. Sound-wise this would suck and it would mean sacrificing having monitors for headphones but could work as a secondary home station if you have a larger space where you can bring collaborators etc at the studio for example and you use this at home.
