Hiding behind this excuse, when I could have sworn that they literally tackled this exact subject matter on The Disney Channel like ten years ago. It's a pretty clear barometer for the cultural backlash period we're currently going through.

Shame too, as Pixar, Owl House, and Gravity Falls are the three semi-decent things about Disney among a sea of corn syrup.
Remember when they tossed Nimona mid development when they bought Fox and then Netflix picked it up and ressurected it?
They pulled some similar shit recently banning a trans episode of one of their marvel cartoons
