Generally revolutionary music is good, especially if it is in a langage idk which is most of them.

German and Russian punk go crazy

I would also love recommendations similar to Molchat Doma and Kino, those also slap. Motorama is also a band I think is cool.

Propaghandi. Their song victory lap is my favorite

They are punk from the Canadian prairies

Just about to head into work but I know a LOT of punk music. I'll get at you later!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago

Might be a tomorrow thing. I really need to save a 'intro to DIY and anarcho punk for those who are into bands I liked at age 13 and ruin their life somewhat around it'.

That could be a half decent angle for a YouTube thing actually....I even have contacts for interviews or just personally know some people in bands that would be a part.

RatM side projects and spinoffs: One Day as a Lion, Street Sweeper Social Club, Prophets of Rage

[–] [email protected] 10 points 5 days ago

Unfortunately socdems, but System of a Down is an incredible band.

Up until last year's SA allegations, Anti-flag are pretty good for the songs and messages.

I got massively into Rise Against for a while. The albums between 2006-2011 go hard.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago

My friend dropped out and my parents wouldn’t let me go, but I had a ticket for Rise Against and Strapping Young Lad. I cried.

Subhumans for anarcho punk. Ssshhhiiittt for slav post punk. Taqbir for Arabic punk

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

Need me some arachno punk tbh

Reagan Youth heart-sickle

If you like Reagan youth you may like the unseen, the virus, sick of it all (more nyhardcore than punk but good), bad brains, uhhhhh ill think of more later probably

They're not really leftists, but I love Sick of it All, they're one of my favorite bands of all time. They should get some credit for making a song about AIDS in 1992.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I've made the same arguement in the past. They were still excellent when I saw them at a hardcore festival this summer.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I've seen them twice and they were maybe the best shows I've ever been to. Hope Lou beats cancer sadness

Refused are an openly socialist Swedish hardcore band, although all their music is in English.

KMFDM and Ministry. Hard AF, leftist themes.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 days ago

It sucks that people are paying attention to KMFDM for the wrong reason again (most recent amerikkka school shooter wore the same shirt as one of the Columbine guys).

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago

I can’t read KMFDM without hearing it in Wesley Willis’ voice. RIP king

The Blood Brothers are my favorite band, maybe check out “Life the Veil, Kiss the Tank”, “Camouflage, Camouflage”, and “Devastator” for some heady anti-imperialism and anti-war rage.

They’re not for everyone, but got damn do I love them.

Xiu Xiu is another with similar themes, but a VASTLY different music style and is EVEN MORE unapproachable. Beyond hating the fuck out of George Bush (track released when he was president), he often sings of hopelessness, suicidal ideation, gender dysphoria, sexuality, self-harm, and all kinds of difficult subjects… so keep that in mind if you’re gonna check them out.

If you like Rage, I'd recommend Stray From the Path, which in a lot of ways is Rage Against the Machine fan fiction: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rlIav2RSD0&themeRefresh=1

I'm more into hardcore punk than the sort of straight punk you're into, but I'd also recommend Fucked Up if you don't mind a bit of a journey in hardcore. Not always revolutionary, but they do have some anti-capitalist songs. Here's their most popular song anyway: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJwgcSjIjMQ

Crass for your punk needs. You may also like Reallyfasthorses.

For Slavic stuff, I like some Hanba and Hlendani. I can't tell you if the politics are good on some of the bands, but when exploring Polish punk/folk-punk I discovered artists like Hiob Dylan.
Edit: also Donoma is pretty solid. That band might be even more up your alley than the stuff I listed. Give Rustbelt Tragedy a listen.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Probably a bit of a stretch based on the bands you listed, but if you want something more hardcore, check out Mindforce. I like to say they're a hardcore band that got a metal guitarist. Excalibur is one of their best

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 days ago

Big fan of their EP from a few years ago, Swingin Swords, Choppin Lords

Rage Against the Machine = Snapcase and The Warriors

Molchat Doma and Kino = Asylum Party, Message, She Past Away, The Chameleons, Danse Society

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago

Hell yeah, someone besides me mentioned Snapcase on this site.

Bob Vylan in particular are chefs-kiss

More UK stuff:

Lambrini Girls - new, feminist, gay, anti-Terf, punk

God's Country

Terf Wars

Company Culture

Bad Breeding - maybe the best explicitly leftist UK punk band of the last decade, well worth digging out thr lyrics online for these

Human Capital - full album

Contempt - full album

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Gods, how did I forget Lambrini girls? Company Culture goes so fucking hard.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago

The video is simply superb as well.

Definitely check out The Virus if you like punk. One of my personal favorites.

Bloodywood and Fever 333 are metal, but if you like metal with leftist themes and band members of color, they're also very good.

For bands similar to Molchat Doma, I'd recommend She Past Away and Sisters of Mercy.

I'd also check out Tom Morello's most recent projects. He was with RATM, as you probably know, but he's a fantastic musician on his own as well.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 days ago

Fear, Minor Threat, Bad Brains

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

For that Slavic doomer vibe, I recommend checking out Ploho. I don’t know anything about them except the music, but it fits the Molchat Doma vibe

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 days ago

Corporate Avengers pretty good

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago

I don’t really listen to punk music all that much but I do love Otoboke Beaver. I’m 99% sure they’re punk but they’re a feminist japanese group
