Me and my friends eating anywhere but Burger King because we care about how food tastes

[–] [email protected] 63 points 2 weeks ago

Pretty sure the comparison here is between McDonald's and Burger King, so good food is already out of the question before the conversation even started.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

If you eat fast food you do not care how good tastes

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

idk I think Wendy's is pretty good

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 weeks ago

Yeah but you gotta warn a person before you hand them a square burger or you might get popped

Bk breakfast is pretty tasty. Oily and bad for you? Absolutely. Still slaps though.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

it is, just maybe 4 times a year or so. these people are monsters

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago

I agree, like an extra not an every week thing

[–] [email protected] 34 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

it was a customer

also don't think for a second any corporation wouldn't throw you under a bus just for the fun of it

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 weeks ago

Every single article I've found states the snitch is an employee. Where have you seen it being said it's actually a customer?

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I saw reports that it was an elderly customer but another report that it was an employee.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 2 weeks ago

an employee of the restaurant called police, NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said

According to CNN. Turns out the question of "how much money does it take for you to kill the person next to you" is $60,000

Oh I see. thank you for the context.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 2 weeks ago

C'mon y'all. You know if you go to a non-chain Latino restaurant nobody's calling the cops.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

How about I eat at a local restaurant instead of a franchise? :)

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 weeks ago

that's what I did today.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 2 weeks ago

I thought this was a useless ~~red~~ circle situation.

It's just the handle for the condiment basket.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 2 weeks ago

Both are trash. The only fast food I consume is Döner

[–] [email protected] 11 points 2 weeks ago

Consumerism identity politics....fucking ew.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

what's this consumer identity bullshit?! "team burguer king" is swell because the presumed Adjuster happened to be snitched on by a mcdonald's employee?

and since when is that fucking pitiful bastard wage slave on "team mcronald"

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I don't know how it works where you are from, but it seems reasonable to assume team membership when you wear their costume, get compensated by them, and perform tasks on their behalf to further enrich said team.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

do you work for minimum wage?

I don't think anyone is completely devoid of responsability for the work they do, no matter how alienated. but I also think the share of responsability goes up with salary - if you have more options then you have more choice

[–] [email protected] 0 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I would argue that the lower your salary, the more choice you have in where you spend your time to earn it. Let's not skip past the fact that working at McDonald's is not mandated, and there are not job assignments doled out to people with their birth certificate. A choice was made, and the rest follows.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

lolwut?! if you earn 2 times minimum wage right you still have the option to work for minimum wage

[–] [email protected] 0 points 2 weeks ago

Of course, but you are being obtuse in moving away from your original argument. Otherwise, why not just get a higher paying job instead of minimum wage lololol. Discarding that, it's an obvious fact that there are fewer job opportunities at higher wage classes as you proceed up through them, so my point to your diversion stands.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Burger King been my first choice since they offer so many plant-based Burgers. At least they do here in germany. Never been to McDonalds again.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 weeks ago

that impossible whopper is clutch when I need a safe food while traveling.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

And they have vegan options 😜

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 weeks ago

I asked for vegetarian options at a McDonald's once. They offered a tomato sandwich. They rang up a hamburger, no meat, add tomato, which means they charged me for the tomato even though they saved the cost of the beef.

I know McD is a major aspect of the boycott, but isn't BK also being boycotted rn?

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Yeah

McDonald’s (US), Burger King (US), Papa John’s (US), Pizza Hut (US), WIX (Israel), etc. are now being targeted in some countries by grassroots organic boycott campaigns, not initiated by the BDS movement. BDS supports these boycott campaigns because these companies, or their branches or franchisees in Israel, have openly supported apartheid Israel and/or provided generous in-kind donations to the Israeli military amid the current genocide. If these grassroots campaigns are not already organically active in your area, we suggest focusing your energies on our strategic campaigns above.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Thanks for sharing that link. I had no idea about that website.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 weeks ago

The app is nice too (No Thanks) you just need to scan the barcode to check if something is on the boycott list. Pretty sure it's on both Android and iOS

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Maybe he killed his first enemy combatant and realized he wasn't a soldier?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

What does that have to do with boycotting?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Oops. Sorry about that. I opened the Voyager app and found an unsent reply, and was like, "I thought I sent this."

And I hit send.

But apparently, if you've had the Voyager web app minimized... and come back to it after 30-40 minutes... AND hit send... it might just reply to a totally unrelated comment in the same post.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago

No worries, I was just confused

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 weeks ago

The fact the snitcher worked at McDonald's is completely irrelevant. Corporate didn't make them do it. That person doesn't represent the entire company and their views. It's just a fuckin person. They could have recognized him, smiled to themselves and moved on and McDonald's would never have known a thing about it.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 weeks ago

My man was the most wanted man in America but he just had to have that spicy McChicken.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago

Maybe mcds will take on legal fees as a PR investment

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 weeks ago

"I HAVE COME UP WITH A NEW RECIPE"

Honestly that game was ass, easy and unfun combat if you could time your dodges and the story was predictable. Only the end was interesting and I liked Ardyn s a character.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

Out of context, but...

Burger king has the worst fucking burgers ever

I had better burgers made with a single slice of beef and that's it

The first time I tried to eat a burger from burger king I assumed I was just too bent on appearances

Holy shit.

Oily. So oily.

It's not edible.

I left it, with just two bites and I had to rush to the toilet, because Jesus Christ not only did it ruin my appetite, I wasn't even fulfilled and I felt SICK.

So anyway, instead of burger king I'm just going to somewhere... Hm... Maybe a local restaurant? We literally have BBQ Döner here
