It's cool that debt is so fake you can buy it at a tenth of a penny on the dollar or wahtever the fuck, but you can't buy your own debt.

Burn it. Burn it all.

Can we start a debt buying cooperative? I buy your debt and you buy my debt and together we all make it go away

One of the better things that came out of the Occupy movement in '11 was a rolling jubilee movement that raised money to buy up medical debt then tear it up. It's been done before. It mights till be happening, let me look.

When gutter-pagans do more praxis than your average prosperity gospel christian.

Christians would buy the debt and then try to collect on it, tithe* on what earnings they make, and then testify to god's goodness for blessing them so much.

* not really lol

That's not fair. There have been other stories of Christian churches that have bought and canceled debt in this fashion (a couple examples, literally just the top search results):

The similarity here is that all of these debt purchases were actually through the RIP Medical Debt non-profit. It's the scale of the buys that allow them to be bought at that rate, and any organization that can raise some thousands of dollars can wipe out millions in debt through this manner.

It's wild to me one or a group can purchase debt, and be able to purchase high amount of it rather cheapy. That's just a bonkers concept to me.

porky-happy tries to make it hard-to-illegal for non porky-happy to buy such debts, though. Because they may be discharged like this. porky-scared

Oh for sure! I'm all for people exploiting any crack in the porky-happy system especially when that exploitation is for the betterment of others, don't get me wrong. Very glad that dirtbag queer gutter-pagan are doing right by people.
