As someone has had anxiety disorders and phobias about height, this looks like a torture device designed by sadists
Genuinely fascinating that this was built. I feel like anyone could have told the architect that this structure is off-putting, even scary. No one has ever had nightmares about the Bean. NYC really needed the staircase from Pathologic?

Not that they're perfectly effective, and there's a local bridge where a guy chucked his kids over the safety net
I think they have at certain high risk spots but the whole structure would need safety netting if you look at the pictures of it.
