DARE

I’m smoking a bowl in my high school DARE shirt right now

stalin-smokin

What a giant waste of money that program is.

[–] [email protected] 24 points 1 month ago (1 children)

When cigarette smoking was in decline among young people in the late 90s, the tobacco industry's think tanks came up with an idea: ironically telling hipsters at coffee shops and poetry meetings that cigarettes were bad for them, then offer them cigarettes.

It worked very well, and smoking spiked up to unprecedented levels among that age demographic.

I sometimes wonder if the DARE program now intentionally wants people to do drugs to spite it as a sort of for-profit prison bait.

Why you gotta flame people like that? What did I do?!

Phillip-Morris thanks early 2000s hipsters for sticking it to the man, one rebellious cigarette at a time. capitalist-woke

lol not even close to CAMP. The Campaign Against Marijuana Plantations, something I actively fought in my early years of activism. It was the most expensive inter agency law enforcement operation in history (still is), and guess what motherfucker I joined the war on drugs on the side of drugs and we fucking won.

It's for the DARE program.

When kids get a load of this they're going to want to do drugs.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 1 month ago

I can't help wondering if that's intentional on the part of the cops to keep the prison pipeline filled up.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 month ago

DARE to keep your kids off drugs (by having them cut down by a malfunctioning autopilot while the zoomer pig in the drivers seat is watching a V*ush video or gooning over some incredibly fucked up porn).

Of course it's fucking Irvine. Irvine is about 30 minutes away from Anaheim (home of Disneyland) which held a literal Klan rally in 2016.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Something about Disney is a fascism magnet and always has been, going all the way back to when Herr Walt was around.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I think about this whenever der Maus Fuhrer is mentioned

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I agree with Walt but probably not how he intended.

The bourgeoisie will fall by the way, because we are stronger.

DREAM BUILDERS

Was that shit intended to sound inspirational? Maybe it is with enough hitler-detector

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 month ago

Whoever thought that quote was worth clipping and remembering as something good already blew out the hitler-detector detector

Irvine Police Department (IPD) is excited to unveil what we believe is the first police Tesla Cybertruck in the nation. The truck will support our Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program and community outreach efforts. While the fully equipped vehicle won’t be used as a patrol car, it can respond to emergencies and assist the community when needed. For over three decades, our DARE officers have driven attention-grabbing and one-of-a-kind vehicles that never fail to turn heads and excite students. IPD believes in the continual education of students and is one of only two DARE programs in the entire state.

IPD passionately seeks unique and innovative ways to connect with our community and the youth of Irvine. Officers on horseback, working with a support K9, or driving a unique vehicle such as the Cybertruck start positive conversations and promote community interaction.

We are thrilled to introduce this vehicle to our community and will be hosting pop-up events in the coming weeks so you can take photos and meet our officers. #inpartnershipwiththecommunity

And deeply weird

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 month ago

of course its Orange County. One of the greatest bastions of American fascism.

Also, fun fact, the Irvine Company owns most of the real estate in Irvine and have near monopoly on rents, both residential and commercial. It more or less controls the town. Just a dystopia all around.

I seriously fucking hate cops

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It'll be funny the first time it rains or some drunk citizen tosses a full beer on the hood and the cyber truck bursts into flames.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

First action report: 27 bullet holes and one hole from acorn that started it.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 month ago (2 children)

The Robocop theme song was right fucking there.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 month ago

Maybe they didn't see Robocop as Le Badass enough and wanted to be more badass in a blue curtained way that ignored the T-101's character arc in T2.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago

I bet they would rather want the Judge Dredd

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 month ago

Someone send me a cybertruck shirt and I'll shoot up fent in it

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Or maybe they understood Cybertruck correctly!

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago

I suppose they could understand ZYBERTRUKKK the way my-hero understands the K-Hole.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Why? Is the Judge Dredd soundtrack not very good?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago

The 2012 version slaps. I can't believe that movie is over a decade old already.
