I knew this was coming because I liked it a lot.

Thanks for ruining it for all of us

I take my role as a Harbinger of Failure very seriously

Proving exactly why Netflix isn't worth subscribing to

Never commit yourself to a Netflix show until you know more seasons are coming.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 month ago

First seasons don't get the numbers that Netflix wants because everyone knows to wait for the 2-3 season.

It's a loop that Netflix is now in lol

1899 was my last straw. At that point I realized I was only hanging on for Tim Robinson.

My brother refuses to watch Sandman for this reason

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

I'm still mad about Inside Job

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

That is rule even waiting for more than 2 seasons... But I forgot about it the other day when my wife and I wanted to find something fast to watch and selected Kaos :(. We didn't even intended to keep watching or expectations of enjoying it as much as we did. That sucks.

I've been doing this to avoid disappointments.

Havent had netflix for a long time now. I sail the high seas.

I don’t even bother with new shows anymore - no point getting invested in something thatll be cancelled anyway. And a lot of series these days turn out to be trash, and not worth even trying.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 month ago (3 children)

I recently started slow horses. Really good if you're looking for something. 4 seasons in

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Absolutely, I wish I could forget it and re-watch it for the first time. It's really good.

I also enjoyed Criminal Record, it's much more intelligent than 99% of shows out there. And it has a bad-ass detective.

Seconding this! Show is great, and Gary Oldman really shines

"Surrounded by losers, misfits and boozers."

I thought there was something more to it. (I'm just watching the latest episode now.)

Ikr? I think i ditched Netflix 2 years ago. Sailing the high seas again after a long time. It was all good when Netflix was the one streaming platform, featuring almost everything.

Don't miss out on some good new shows. But i would rather look at Amazon's and Apple's releases for good, new, series. They also tend to not cancel series as often as Netflix does.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

As much as I hate Amazon as a corporation, they actually make good creative decisions with their streaming offerings. I really liked Patriot back in the day and was surprised

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

Funny you say that, because Amazon seems to cancel the few shows I get invested in.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

Miss out on some good new shows

For sure - Ill wait until its “finished”, or at least not being cancelled midway through

[–] [email protected] 33 points 1 month ago

Fucking idiots. This is what happens when you let beancounters make creative decisions.

[–] [email protected] 29 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Training your users to never get invested in any new shows 👌

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Which each of these cancelations I get closer to getting rid of Netflix. Only rewatching library content like Bojack Horseman keeps me renewing rn.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

I mean, stremio is a thing. Why keep paying if you can have the exact same experience with every show imaginable available to you.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 month ago

Good thing they butchered the ending by leaving 6327 plot threads completely open.

What a waste of good acting.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 1 month ago

I've only checked out a handful of shows on that chart analysis, including The Gentlemen, and Kaos was so much better than any of them. Much better written, acted and directed on all fronts. Sigh.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 month ago

What the fuck? It was a successful show.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

I'm going to pull this out of my asshole, but I'm guessing that cast cost them quite a bit and the viewing returns couldn't justify it.

Which sucks, because it was a actually novel and interesting show.

Normally, that would have meant I wouldn't have even started watching it because I would assume eminent cancellation, but I actually figured the cast worked in its favor. Guess I was wrong.

Oh Netflix, you're still finding new ways to show me I was right to cancel my decade-long subscription.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

Netflix has always had trouble paying A listers. The monetization model just doesn't translate properly.

There's a real possibility that they cancelled this because Jeff Goldblum wanted too much money for season 2.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 month ago

Finding out that show even exists by hearing about its cancellation will never stop being amusing to me.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 month ago

I refuse to watch new netflix shows now. I'll binge watch them if yhe arc completes in a few years

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 month ago

Trash website makes trash decision

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I only just started watching this show this weekend. Two episodes in and enjoying it. God damn it, Netflix.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

::: spoiler Spoiler ahead giving advice on whether to watch the rest of the show:

The season ends the story at a reasonable half conclusion, so even though they setup a storyline that would've been the second season, you still feel reasonably not blueballed.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

I was telling my wife just this. A lot of things are left open but you have enough hints to reasonably infer where the story was headed. Would have been great to see it all, though.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

I'm not familiar with this show in any way, but the thumbnail and headline make me want to say: Kaos, uh... Finds a way.

Based on the comments I'm reading here, hopefully that's true!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

@Blaze I had already cancelled my #netflix sub, but if I had not, this would have done it for me.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

I thought it was interesting and original until the pointless cat scene and the complete lack of an ending.
