The Drej Queen of the Drej Tank says that you can't fight the Drej. No one can! They're pure energy! It isn't up for debate. You don't have the power to change everything. Or anything. As it stands, the Drej are committed to ending the human threat no matter what. It sucks but its the truth and there is not currently an opportunity for you, as voters, to influence or change that.

This is the only VOOOOOOOTE argument I really empathize with. I already live in America. I pay taxes to it. I materially support it in every way that matters. But now I want to turn up my nose at saying I consent to what it's doing? Seems inauthentic. I'm not one of those people who is trapped here by material circumstances, only social ties. If it really meant enough to me I could leave this place for a country that is less overtly genocidal. I don't think reforming the US from the inside has a better chance of success than not paying however many thousands of dollars a year to it.

For what it's worth, most countries you could easily move to (IE english-speaking) are also all rabidly genocidal. Canada, Australia, and the UK are no better than the US, they're just not the hegemon so they can eg abstain on UN votes (as though it isn't immediately obvious what that actually means).

The United States was built on settler colonial genocide and racial chattel slavery. It carries the cultural legacy of the political acceptability of such chauvinist horrors. Liberals are just showing the depths to which they always would have, and always have, sunk.

We should be using this to agitate and build our own organizations. Many people find this horrific, anyone whose liberalism is jostled is in a moment of uncertainty where we can educate them before they fall back into the fold of polite liberal genociders. And every person we recruit and educate becomes someone that can fight against genocide.

Straight outta the ol' Chomsky bit:

The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion, but allow very lively debate within that spectrum – even encourage the more critical and dissident views. That gives people the sense that there’s free thinking going on, while all the time the presuppositions of the system are being reinforced by the limits put on the range of the debate.

Except this is an internalised form of it, which is even more dismal.

In this case it's not the people at the top who are controlling the debate and confining it to a strict limit of what's permissible but instead it's the people who are policing the debate themselves.
