Cosplayed as a Dalek once. It was hot, stuffy, and difficult to manoeuvre. I now understand why Daleks are angry all the time.

Never cosplayed personally, but friend went in an admittedly simple Jedi costume back during the Phantom Menace era. We went to a Star Wars convention and just wow. The vibe was incredible. He garnered us so much attention in what was essentially a hand sewn wool blanket with a light sabre toy (no blade) on his belt with glued cardboard detailing. People LOVED the effort though even if it paled in comparison to the 'professionals' out there. Guaranteed conversation in any line or wait area. Great way to meet hot Twi'leks in your area. Cannot recommend enough you get into it if you are at all interested.

I made a Bespin Leia outfit to wear to the opening night of Phantom Menace. On the way to the theater, I got pulled over. The cop was very weirded out by me. I did not get lucky with just a warning.

I've cosplayed as a Ghostbuster and Dr Doom at conventions, it's a blast!

Putting the costumes together gave me a break from computer stuff, which was nice, and gave me an excuse to obsess about my interests.

Going out in public wearing a costume is always nerve-wracking. But the anxiety disappears as soon as you get close to the event. When I saw someone walking down the sidewalk, dressed as Megaman, I knew I was home.

Walking around in cosplay at a convention is like being a celebrity for 4 hours! Everyone knows who you are, and wants a picture with you. As a Ghostbuster, I get high fives from every other GB (there's always a bunch, young and old). As Dr. Doom, I had a 5yo girl (dressed as Minnie mouse) come up and tell me I'm her favorite. It was magical.

i had a friend who cosplayed as ironman and to sort of help guide/handle him i cosplayed as a s.h.i.e.l.d agent. mainly walked in front of him and prevented people from touching him because he was on some stilts to appear larger. then helped with taking photos with fans. my cosplay was pretty easy. Just a suit and a laminated badge hehe

I recently got my wife a sewing machine and cosplaying was a good creative avenue. She made a cosplay of Bulma from Dragonball. it was really cool and her own take given her skills. She wants to do another Bulma outfit but likely one from DBZ.

I was He-Man on Halloween as an 8 year old. My little brother was Orko. It was pretty awesome.

I need to see pics of you two!

Does Halloween count?

I've done Johnny Depps character from fear and loathing in las Vegas for something

Nerdy from Jurassic Park.

Jack from The Titanic when I went to a haunted maze at the Queen Mary one year.

I cosplay as someone with their shit together most days.

I cosplay a plague doctor all the time? I don't really have anything too interesting to say about it tho, sorry

Do you ever wish you picked something that didnโ€™t require a mask full time?

[โ€“] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

It's surprisingly well ventilated, lots of hidden air holes in the bottom near my mouth, and it doesn't tend to get too hot. I'd say I prefer it to the standard face masks from covid, breathing-wise. Tends to be cool here anyway

Worst aspect is the dark lenses, helps with bright lights and sunshine, but in the evening it can be hard to see

I'm actually really grateful for it, it helps reduce my extreme social anxiety. I also use a Venetian half mask as part of a masquerade look, and that has the same effect

Sorry, I know none of this is interesting

I have a couple times.
My favorite was as a Katamari - Was standing in a giant Hoberman sphere on a rolling cart. The structure was covered in a sheet and the sheet was covered in whatever junk I could find that would fit, but especially stuff from the game. Even had a life size Prince of All Cosmos trailing behind it

So where's the pictures?!?

[โ€“] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

I think that drive is long gone - this was over a decade ago. But if I find them I'll update this.

Ive cosplayed a handful of times. Maybe 4 or 5? Elektra Netflix version was most fun as someone gave me their sparing sais and I found other Netflix Daredevils at the time to pose pics with and pretend to spar.

I was Momo from My Hero Academia. A generic agent from Psychopass. The gun prop i have is fun. It flashes and talks. Jealous now though as there are some that transform. It was cool when I found other characters from the show.

Lastly, I was a terrorist from Counter Strike. I had rubber knives, grenade, sunglasses and I drew a mustache for myself!

I havent cosplayed in a while though and havent been to any conventions lately

I did some reenactment as a early American colonial settler for a whole expo in a town event. That was pretty fun! Outside that I've only helped friends with their actual cosplay. One friend did a league of legends character (IDK the name, I don't play) and one did reinheart from overwatch. And another did a tavern wench.

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures in hand. I may cosplay myself soon though. Unknown

Not really but when I wear my duster and my nice wide brim felt hat people always say I look like Van Helsing

[โ€“] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

I've cosplayed as countless characters before, the majority of times it being accidental. Though, if I'm doing it intentionally, although sometimes the ease falls in my lap as one sees, I tend to stay in my appearance range.

No, I have not cosplayed before. Unfortunately, due to the my lack of cosplaying experience, I cannot tell you about any.
