On a large enough clock, the hour hand could have easily visible marks for not just minutes, but also seconds. If I were an architect or whatever I would try to make that the floor of a lobby or something.

What is this, a magnification for ants?

I'm surprised it's not by Eiffel.

Yes. Although our children are more squircle than square.

  1. That's exactly the same thing and you know it and she knows it.

  2. True, but all 3rd party candidates who are running in the general election are there to be a spoiler. Even RFK jr. dropped out and dropped the mask as soon as he realized he was spoiling the wrong side.

  3. You're right that she's not campaigning for de la Cruz, but she still said the quiet part out loud about supporting 3rd party candidates in general. (And Sawant uses the word socialist to describe herself regardless of specific party, I hadn't realized that she wasn't in the main one, thank you. That's why I used 'one of them' incorrectly.)

Yup. Their goal is to help elect Trump. ~~One of them~~ a self-described socialist who supports Jill Stein from my state even said so outright.

Edit: looks like some of you might not believe me. Here.

And here's a more direct source, but it has a paywall.

Wow. Yeah, that's almost Space: 1999 levels of unphysical.

I had to read that 2-3 times before I could comprehend that the base was not on top of ice and falling through it.

Yeah...

I assume a novelization.

Very nice. Apparently the donation model is working for them. I'm going to support them myself after giving it a bit more time, but I'm already impressed.

Yup. Kids are jumpy alright. I expect to see a lot more of them this evening.

I think a good author makes it explicit.

Here's a sci-fi web novel I read years ago, where a couple of the characters end up being immortal in different ways, and in one case they show exactly how far that can go (in the context of the story) even without invoking heat death.

The links inside the linked post are relative links, such as xkcd which is a link to /c/[email protected]

Boost does not open them when tapped, flashing an error instead.

There are unfortunately some subreddits which are still the best place to find timely info about certain topics - for example video game subs run by the developers of the game. Lemmit is a way to subscribe to those while not giving Reddit any more "engagement" or ad views.

The bot that runs Lemmit only posts on its own instance, so users like me only see it when we subscribe explicitly (or the All view I guess, but that's a mixed bag already. Edit: and each user could choose to ban it if they want)
