mocking and quoting bigots I've seen so far

:liberalism: turns to pit "you know it's hexbear when the tankie pronoun parade shows up to force pictures of pigshit in front of you!"* real quick

[*this is paraphrased, I can't remember the exact original quote]

Or "so suddenly I'm Hitler because i think people calling themselves Fae gender is dumb"

Or "why should i need to learn a new set of different pronouns for every person I meet?" (this followed two comments after "I'm literally not a transphobe, I work with plenty of trans colleagues who feel safe around me" (average lib being scratched in real time by having to acknowledge neopronouns))

.
All of these shitheads claimed to be allies when they started interacting but our brilliant pronoun tags immediately made them out themselves as the bigots they are who only pretend to be allies because it looks bad to be openly and proudly transphobic

TL;DR: pitmaduro-katana-1hexbear-non-binary

learn a new set of different pronouns for every person I meet?

"I hate learning things about people. What? Your NAME? You think I want to learn a new name for every person I meet!?"

Honestly I don’t quite understand the need for neopronouns either, but anyone who complains about them as a concept is at bare minimum a complete dork and probably really is a transphobe, it takes like 10 seconds to grasp and start using preferred pronouns for a stranger, it’s infinitely harder to change the pronouns that pop into your head for someone you’ve known for a very long time when they transition publicly, and it’s not like that’s too much to ask for, so then why would learning and using people’s neopronouns be a problem?

I will admit, I don’t like how a few of them fit into the flow of the sentence

I called it! I knew the LIBbrain would shut down when presented with some actual progressive thought!

it would be depressing, but i've seen it happen often enough, through history and sadly in my personal life sadness

Here's a terrible take I saw today from a lemm.ee user:

[Hexbear's] they/them tags are a blantant mockery of trans people.

I guess my pronouns are a joke??

no, they aren't pro trans or pro lgbtq. They purposely pick those pronouns and go around to post racist stuff, bigotry, chinese propaganda and all the accompanying junk. Typical online terrorism.

Hexbear is so good at being GSRM inclusive that they literally think it's satirical or something. Which basically outs them as having never been a part of a truly inclusive space, since they expect that most people should use "normal" pronouns, and that spaces shouldn't be visibly queer.

Imagine being so sheltered from the queer community that you think they/them pronouns are satire?

Pronouns are like the social distancing and masking policy of online discussion: they don't ask much (actually, pronounce ask a lot less than the inconvenience of masking and social distancing) but they make liberals get scratched at record speed and make the enlightened nonpolitical centrist types drop the mask and go full frothingfash

Truly wonderful how this has led more people to add pronouns. Great post.

👨‍🚀🔫👩‍🚀

So I need to create an account in this instance in order to add pronouns?

[–] [email protected] 33 points 1 year ago (8 children)

Yeah I think so, apparently someone else in this thread has been trying to do it on their instance but they don't seem to be visible outside of their instance

If you do decide to join though we'll be happy to have you <3

Also if you do you'll be able to use all our cool emojis like:

astronaut-2 astronaut-1

Gender is exhausting. I'd rather just be an Oracle from Alice Isn't Dead sometimes.
