If someone says a me-centric phrase like "what the fuck is your problem" or "are you seriously going to do that here" or even "I'm breaking up with you. That's insane.", I try to refocus the conversation on our relationship to each other instead. I'll say something like "that's gaslighting" and then constantly insist that's what that word means. Now they know that the issue isn't me or my actions, but our communication breaking down and their willingness to be a predator in that situation.
