They finally kissed. THEY FINALLY KISSED! I was waiting since the start of the series for this. But they finally kissed! Fuck yeah!

Having your own parents to send assassins against you is rough. At least she isn't emotionally attached to them, for good or bad.

Patric and Yumiellia kiss in the light of fireworks

Patric's love finally pierced the event horizon of the black hole and got a kiss that he deserved

Next week in the finale we will get a Demon Lord fight and as I read the source material I can't wait.

Can't wait to see the reactions. This show has been such a fun ride despite the obvious limitations in animation budget.

I audibly groaned at the animated soldiers.

Patrick isn't letting fireworks or anything else get in the way of getting his feelings across to Yumiella this time. That was a really satisfying climax to the relationship they have built up over the season. I wasn't quite sure what was happening with the screen dimming like that at first, but it was all a setup for the rock paper scissors game and them basically ignoring the outcome because they both wanted the same thing.

Something that was cut for time in the anime were additional interactions with the boy that has dark hair, named Phil in the source. In the parts that were cut, he ends up becoming good friends with Ryu and they often play outside the city walls with the other boys. The city guards are only terrified for their lives at the beginning of this process, but they warm up to Ryu's cuteness as well.

Finale coming next episode as we are literally traveling to fight the demon king right now. There was a bit of foreshadowing already about what is going to happen, but I am so excited to see the final episode.

I have had a blast with this series and it has done the source justice in a lot of ways even if it did make a number of changes/omissions. The main thing I was worried about not coming across with this adaptation is the humor that is contained within Yumiella's inner monologue since that is what is often cut when being adapted to anime. However, they did a great job with casting Yumiella and preserving a lot of her inner dialogue so that the humor is preserved. It also has the added benefit that there isn't a lot of dynamic animation while she is monologuing, so it can save some money.

Most of the episode a tragic story, but then we end in celebrations! Our dude Patrick did what no other anime protagonist has done in ages before the end of the season!

Sadly only one episode left, should be a good one though, finally the Dark Lord is here!

I hope we get more seasons, there's fun stuff ahead, I specially wanna see Book 3 and it's sheer madness adapted!

Patrick isn't going to let fireworks get in his way. Level 60 assertiveness right there.
