How we doing folks? Read many books this year? What's been your favourite so far?

Context: a joint Palestinian/Israeli film won best documentary, and it is not easy to find

I keep my very large jars full of jars in these massive cylindrical glass containers with lids on. Can't think of the name for them but they do the job.

Well it's not a shit rating but I do think A Knight's Tale is way better than its mediocre scores. Perfect comfort movie.

I have nothing to add except I hope you're still enjoying Lord of the Rings.

Your "To Be Read" list, that is. Tell us what's near the top or share the whole thing if you like. I'm nosy and like seeing what books people are excited about.

I avoid this by simply having no money

She escaped into the ceiling and refused to come back out. We left food out for her, and she would eat it, but we never saw her again. We heard her though, yipping and scuttling about on various ceiling adventures. Rest well Frank Zappa the Second.

She was a replacement for my son because his other one (Frank Zappa the First) got sick and died while he was on holiday. His mum swapped them before he found out, but when she did so she forgot what colour the original hamster was (mix of dark/light brown). We had to convince my son that hamsters shed their baby fur and grow back a completely new colour (ginger/white).

The direction of the No in that last panel is upsetting

I think the point is to just enjoy what you can while you can. And if you can help others you should do that too.

And how are you liking it?

I'm working my way through Foundryside by Robert Jackson Bennett and it's solid so far, lots of fun, very compelling. I'm not the fastest reader but I'm already halfway done after just a few days.

I'd like my special interest communities to be a bit more active...

If any of you like wresting please come post on [email protected]

If any of you read fantasy books please come post on [email protected] or [email protected]

Anyone here participating in this year's r/fantasy book bingo? How's it going if so?

Attached a pic of my card so far. Working my way through Red Sister currently and quite enjoying it, turns out this Mark Lawrence guy is pretty good.

Edit: just realised I said "this year's" bingo when this may in fact be "the last" bingo. Oh well.
