Currently only the Stripe backend supports recurrent payments by charging a credit card automatically. For Taler I plan to add an invoice like reminder email to simulate something similar.

One time payments are of course supported by both.

I started working on a modernized Fosspay fork and also got a small NLnet grant to add GNU Taler support to it. Sadly I am extremely busy with another project the next three months, but I expect to make some progress on it before the end of the year.

My repo can be found here: https://f-hub.org/Meta/contributron

Ok, I can generally agree on that, but lets please not mix Syrian (or other) refugees into that, because those are really two different issues. Most of them are not employed in the sector you talk about, and in total numbers they make up an insignificant part of the work force anyway.

Sorry, but you are repeating right-wing nonsense here yourself. The syrian refugees had an neligible impact on European labour or "freedom", what ever you mean with that exactly...

There was certainly some mishandling of those new arrivals, but that was mostly due to right-wing local governments who dragged their feet and obstructed were they could.

The much bigger issue that was Merkel's fault is that she got scared of her own courage and entered into these shady blackmail deals with Erdogan later on.

Well, it's not a bad start. Maybe turn some part of you yard into a tree nursery and plant them somewhere?

Or if you know how to fix older cars try to help others with that and see how such community efforts evolve?

If you want to exchange official fiat currencies you need something that libeufin can talk to via the standartized banking api. Everything else is included in Taler and ready to be used with unofficial regional currencies for example.

Please make a report next time instead of replying with a comment as that just boosts the spam further in the "active" ranking of Lemmy.

Basically yes, but the seller needs to register a business account with a Swedish Taler bank exchange, and if that bank figures out that the seller is breaking Swedish law they can terminate that account.

While I appreciate the efforts Valve puts into improving WINE/Proton, lets not forget that they are standing on the shoulders of giants and gaming with WINE was not that bad before the integration in Steam either.

Central banks have a target inflation of about 2% and actively try to prevent deflation (much more so than inflation). In general moderate inflation is a good thing as it puts some pressure on keeping the money in circulation instead of hording it.
