Very cool, thanks for sharing.
You can observe that your Signal client connects to IPs that belong to AWS, which is the same thing.
I don't need evidence for water being wet 🤷
The Signal gateway has currently issues, due to Signald being broken.
For WhatsApp and Discord there is Slidge.
IRC works great with Biboumi.
I am not aware of a Google voice bridge, but there are ways to bridge to the regular phone network and sms. The easiest is the https://jmp.chat/ service.
Yes there are gateways (or transports) for xmpp. See for example https://slidge.im/ but there are also a few other projects.
It's maybe a bit less than for Matrix, but the ones that exist tend to work better.
Look, if you run the server you have access to metadata of clients connecting to it. That is networking 101. And that Signal shares phone numbers and connection timestamps is well established by court documents.
The security audits are of the code and encryption algorithm, not the infrastructure.
The infrastructure is under control of an antagonistic government, yes. Hetzner is also technically a private company, but they obviously willingly complied with requests from the German government.
Eh? Renewables are taking over as we speak. Under what rock are you living? Nuclear power plants are outdated, expensive and totally unecessary 🤷
Their server infrastructure is (run by Pentagon and NSA best buddies AWS).
I learned about this project when they got an NLnet grant last year and have been following the main dev on Mastodon. Very interesting project 👍
I'll be happy with the renewables plus battery storage now, while you continue to burn fossile fuel while you wait for 25 years to complete building your nuclear reactors and pay tripple of what you planned 🤷
Promoting nuclear power at this point in time is a psyop by the fossile fuel industry 🤦
