I saw Bladerunner as a teenager and it affected me so much I'm now a grown-ass man living in a cyberpunk dystopia. Follow your dreams.

Soaring atmospheric industrial noise and beats over gothy vocals, creating a unique, epic soundscape. One of my favourite albums in recent years.

Yeah never be stoned when navigating a hookup, absolutely rookie mistake.

Once you've hooked up for the first time then you can get wasted as you like, stoned sex is the fuckin' best.

Looking for some help identifying a flying insect. They are black and red flying bugs about the size of a largish wasp and have a very long, distinct "stinger" on their ass, but I don't think it's actually used to sting. I see them almost exclusively on the lawn where they are constantly flitting around, landing then taking off again after a few seconds.

Sorry I couldn't get a decent photo of them.

I've always called them Grass Wasps but I don't know if that's a name I made up (searching for that term doesn't find them). I'm pretty sure they're not actual wasps.

I'm just trying to find their actual name to look up some information on them. I'm used to seeing them around but the last couple of months their numbers have been steadily increasing in my yard to the extent where there's basically a swarm of them permanently around. They don't really do anything problematic but I was curious why they seem so populous at the moment (I assume its just the jungle weather we've been having) and if they might cause any issues in large numbers.

DO NOT ASK SOCIAL MEDIA IMPORTANT MEDICAL QUESTIONS. CONSULT AN EXPERT.

Almost all of the replies here are wrong or missing important information.

More a student of history than a predictor of the future. What's happening in the world at the moment is nothing new, human societies are pretty predictable, at a broad scale.

It's not written like typical sci-fi, it's more like an art house (for lack of a better term) novel that happens to have a sci-fi setting. William Burroughs was a major influence on his writing and Neuromancer is perhaps the most obvious example of that.

It rewards re-reading immensely, I would advise to just go with the flow and don't sweat the bits you can't quite grasp, a lot of it makes more sense over time or clicks when you re-read it. It is incredibly worth it, imo, an absolute masterpiece of literary talent and prescient speculative fiction.

Having said that, if that style isn't really your thing and you prefer more straight-forward sci-fi, then you will probably not dig it.

edit: After posting this comment I re-loaded my feed and there's a post about William Burroughs directly above this one. Bill would be pleased.

I mean, "almost half" means that the majority still want to vote for him.

"Men are victims of the patriarchy too" is an incredibly powerful message that I wish more men understood.

It's fine to not be interested in a relationship. But to be like that because you're in love with a fictional character is dysfunctional and almost certainly a result of wider issues in your life. I think a doctor or therapy of some sort could be highly beneficial to you.
