And economists have estimated that the trade policy will cost the typical US household more than $1,200 a year
Remember this, when you hear about tax cuts for the wealthy.

I wanted to point out something about what Trump said during that meeting...
“You’re in a bad position right now. You don’t have the cards.”
My understanding is that Ukraine did have the cards, they were called nukes, but they gave them up for peace and guarantees of protection from the United States, and others, against invasion.
And then, they got invaded.
Twice.

Edit2: Always pay attention to what the other hand is doing.

The common version of the phrase...
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing,”
The actual version of the phrase...
"When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall, one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle."
Unix, Linux, whats the diff? Its all the same.

From the article...
But while many think that YouTube's system isn't great, Trendacosta also said that she "can't think of a way to build the match technology" to improve it, because "machines cannot tell context." Perhaps if YouTube's matching technology triggered a human review each time, "that might be tenable," but "they would have to hire so many more people to do it."
That's what it comes down to, right there.
Google needs to spend money on people, and not just rely on the AI automation, because it's obviously getting things wrong, its not judging context correctly.
From the article ...
“Without these standards of decency and morality, this planet may rapidly descend into anarchy, never-ending wars, and barbarism.”
AKA, "the center will not hold".
I want to live in the alternate timeline, with President Sanders.
Its not the age, its the mileage.
Bernie has plenty of miles left in him.
Edit: He sounds a lot more cognizant than others who are running for an office.
Having said that, everyone running for office should have to take a cognitive test.
From the article...
He also told the audience that pirate-site operators "aren't teenagers playing an elaborate prank. The perpetrators are real-life mobsters, organized crime syndicates—many of whom engage in child pornography, prostitution, drug trafficking, and other societal ills.
I'm honestly surprised they didn't throw the word 'terrorist' into that description as well.
I can’t wait for the billionaires to increase our power bills for this.
Yes yes I know it would be cheaper, but billionaires are going to charge more money even though it’s costing them less.
You know, not everything has to be "eat the rich".
This could just be a really neat science article/discussion about a fusion test, and have no need to bring up Capitalism.
The constant complaining just gets old after a while. Be focused, if you want to be listen to, and taken seriously.
As unscrupulous AI companies crawl for more and more data, the basic social contract of the web is falling apart.
Honestly it seems like in all aspects of society the social contract is being ignored these days, that's why things seem so much worse now.
Though there’s a carve-out for game consoles.
That carve out is so blatant, and so obvious, that I'm surprised that actually exists.
It really puts a negative light on the politicians who wrote the law for all of the voters to see.
I really hope there's some investigative reporting as to who wrote the law, and who wrote that clause, so we can identify them easier in the next election cycle.
As a Linux gamer, that uses Proton to play games, I'm sure glad they did.
Makes it easy to figure out if I should bother buying the game or not.
