Makes sense. I recall watching a documentary showcasing how children were drinking from 2L soft drink bottles.

What is the objective behind selling the chocolate bars? I will have to delve deeper into the topic.

I finished reading Anna Karenina and opted to follow up with The Brothers Karamazov. I inadvertently chose to continue reading Russian period classics.

Bypassing internal hiring regulations is common. Cronyism is societally accepted at this point.

I went there in 2009. I was too young to appreciate the culture. Locals were busy selling tourists goods and I wasn’t even sure what to soak in at the square.

So the Wagner Group is 300km from Moscow and Putin is on his way to St. Petersburg.

You most likely don’t have as much free time on your hands. That is a major reason for this. You can start with smaller books of interest to get the feeling of completion.

I am Australian and have always known it exclusively as the American term “ladybug”. Never heard of ladybird before.

My understandings on the Fediverse is unclear right now. Will you be able to search for posts just as in stack overflow and reddit right now?

I mean he explained enough if you have a Lemmy account.

I'm not sure if there is a place to promote your own communities in lemmy.world. I decided to create a thread where you can post and promote your own community.

Mine is focused on watches: https://lemmy.world/c/watches

I am theoretically switching over from Reddit to Lemmy. Finding myself spending more time on Lemmy than on Reddit. Maybe it's because I am limited to using the desktop and can't aimlessly browse Reddit on my iPhone. Of late, the only subreddits I cared for were on sports and their matchday threads and r/watches. I found myself aimlessly browsing through r/AskReddit and asking and answering pointless questions.

I'm not saying Lemmy is going backwards, but I prefer this forum vibe I am experiencing here with people expressing their opinions and helping each other.

I subconsciously felt that this "lemmy.world" instance was for those with at least a smidgeon of programming knowledge. Otherwise the name just seems odd.

When I subscribe in a community in another instance it always says "pending " in yellow. I can comment but I am not officially subscribed to the community. E.g. subscribing to "!nostupidquestions@lemmy.ml"

Maybe I just need to wait.

Edit: It says "subscribe pending" in yellow

Refer to title.

Thanks for the feedback. Seems impossible to sign for the instance.

Does anyone know how long it takes to create sign up to the lemmy.ml instance? It seems impossible right now.
