The "nuts" part? That's just another term for "crazy."

That's exactly what it looks like to me.

That's what they call a "Pavement Princess," basically a truck that is done up to be useless as a truck, and will never climb anything bigger than a curb at the local waffle house.

Ya STARS is one of those things most people don't pay much attention to until it's needed, but they are a really nice thing to have especially considering how large our country is.

My trip with them was about 80 miles to Winnipeg, and took about 18 minutes from the time they stuffed me in the back to the time they put me into the ambulance at the airport. I can't imagine how long that would have taken by ground.

Honestly I don't think I needed to get there that fast, but they were worried because I had head trauma and had lost a lot of blood so they erred on the side of caution, which was understandable.

https://www.stars.ca/ is their website if anyone is wondering what STARS is.)

here in Canada I had an accident once. Was loaded onto a STARS helicopter, flown 80 miles to the nearest city, unloaded into an ambulance for the rest of the trip to the hospital, x-rayed, stitches, and two surgeries.

Only thing I paid for was a dollar for some really bad coffee from the hospital canteen.

Most of them are not in Russia, It would be much easier to find and block them if they were all coming from the same country. Instead, they're scattered all over the place to blend in, and to take advantage of cheap labor.

probably nobody will care, but I'm sad at the passing of my microwave. It was born in July of 1983, and died march 24th, 2026. I had bought it used in 1992 and it faithfully served me and my family for many years until today, when the keypad decided to partially quit working. Rest in peace Zappy, you will be missed.

I'm looking for a new keypad but unsurprisingly the parts for this ancient thing are no longer in stock so I doubt I'll be able to resurrect it without some sort of miracle. I know it's just an appliance but it still makes me sad to see it go.

I see this as a complete parenting fail. It is not your job as a parent to 'protect' your child from the world, it is your job to prepare them for it.

That poor kid is gonna need a lot of therapy later in life after he/she moves out on their own.

I wonder if JB Weld can fix this. I guess only one way to find out.

They're from the phones you see in old movies that you had to crank to talk to an operator, commonly used up until the 1950's. I put my multimeter on one and it's still reading 1.3 volts. The owner told me I can take the whole lot of them if I want them which I'm tempted to do just because I like to collect old junk but I probably drag enough useless crap home as it is.

“I have instructed the IDF [Israel Defense Forces] to act so that the hate flotilla … does not reach the shores of Gaza – and to take all necessary measures to that end,” Katz said in a statement.

The Hate flotilla? FUCK EVER LAST ONE OF THESE BLATANTLY LYING MOTHERFUCKERS WITH A PINEAPPLE BACKWARDS!!! I don't know how but we need to completely end the careers of everyone who tries to twist shit around like this.

Make Lying Bad Again.

I tried looking around a little and it sounds really scammy to me. All the contact info and domain registrars is listed "redacted for privacy." Personally the whole thing seems to smell funny to me but I could be wrong. Anyone used or heard of this site before? I just want to make sure my daughter isn't going to get screwed over

“No Mr Netanyahu, it is not antisemitic or pro-Hamas to point out that, in a little over six months, your extremist government has killed over 34,000 Palestinians and wounded more than 78,000, 70% of whom are women and children,”

There are even people here on lemmy trying to push that Yahoo's bullshit narrative that the demonstrations are pro hamas. Thankfully most of lemmy can see through the crap and downvote the hell out of them.

I didn't get a closer pic of this one sadly because a)Bees and b) I got distracted by the old Fargo that's directly behind me in this pic.

I've always wondered how many people fell for that.

Well that was unexpected. Rip Matthew
