I don't think we have that rule in Germany. I only know that the cheapest drink on the menu must be non alcoholic.
Germany is very weird about water. We have clean good tap water everywhere but restaurants want you to pay for bottled water. I have been to a few countries and most of them give you water without asking. But not Germany.
What gpu does the laptop have? That is very important. Many games run well on AMD graphics but nvidia often can be problematic.
I don't mind the second it takes. Better than the service going down because of AI bots.

The perpetual chicken egg problem of IPv6: many users don't have IPv6 because it's not worth it because everything is reachable via IPv4 anyways because IPv6 only service don't make sense because they will only reach a subset of users because many users don't have IPv6.....

The great thing is that if a lot of people like Mastodon they can use it and if you don't like it you can use something differenent and you will still be able to communicate. That's the whole point.
It completely replaced Reddit for me. I love the project. It is getting better and better.

AFAIK it's not about drinking tap water. Pretty much everyone knows that our water is high quality. It's more that it's not freely offered at restaurants and requesting it is sometimes even frowned upon. We went to a spot where a friend was rather rudely cut off after the second glass of water while the whole table was ordering the "expensive" drinks.
