Tillykke!!
Jeg skullet have plantet dem tidligere, men fuck it.
Mojn, bishes!
We want to go to the cinema. The problem was that for a number of years, there were no worthwhile movies to go see in cinema! 2026 has been an unusually great year for movies so far and it will continue to be great right until the end of the year because the remaining releases this year have more than a handful of interesting films among them. I'm waiting for Werwulf and Wildwood, personally. I wanted to go see more movies, but money are tight right now, so I have to pick.
I literally can't remember the last time I had a year where I was this hyped to go see one movie, let alone five or six and having to actually prioritize which ones I'll go support in the cinemas and which ones I'll buy on bluray or DVD later. I think this hasn't happened to me since 2018 when Hereditary came out. Every year since 2018 has been progressively more dull and disappointing, until this year and I don't think I'm the only one who feels this way.
Kinda wild that when you start making movies that people want to watch, they actually go watch them. Who would've known???
Everytime I see one of your posts, my brain rejects that you're in the process of making a rocket and is instead fully committed to the idea that you're just a very creative vampire hunter, who got bored with making conventional stakes.
I love that this person also starts talking about colon issues and how yoghurt can cure it, while posting in a thread about a lady who has breast cancer. There are levels to stupidity. Some levels are so stupid, it is hard to fathom.
Man, this is so awful :( I just had my breast removed due to the pre-stages to breast cancer. It is genuinely so scary how fast these things grow. There was basically nothing wrong with my breast in January and by Spring, I went to the doctor for an unrelated check and casually asked him to take a look at this small lump in my breast. He said it seemed like nothing more than some hormonal changes and that's what I thought as well, but he referred me to get a mammogram "just to be safe". I got an appointment for February 2027 and was like "cool, I'll wait". The hospital called me sometime later and told me they wanted to offer me an appointment at a private clinic asap because the public mammogram section of the hospital was overbooked. I agreed and went in June. They weren't able to see that anything was wrong, but decided to do a biopsy anyway, "just to be safe". They told me, I would get the results in five weeks. Only two weeks passed and then they called me and told me they had found pre-stage cancer cells in my breast.
That was such a shitty day, ngl. I was very upset. They wanted to do further tests to see how much the cells had evolved so that they could see if they could preserve my breast or if they had to remove it entirely. MRI scans and all that shit. There were two lumps and together they were 11cm long. There was NOTHING in January and by June there was an 11cm growth. So fucked.
They had to remove my breast and they did in the beginning of July. It literally saved my life. There were no signs of the cells having evolved to cancer and nothing had spread to my lymphnodes. The doctor who gave us the good news told me that I had saved my life by catching it so early, because this would have been so bad if it had been left to grow much longer. It was all stupid luck and convenient coincidences. I could have ended up like Lucy so easily because everyone, even the pros thought that it was nothing more than some hormonal changes.
It hasn't really hit me just how fucking serious this was, but reading stories like Lucy's is devastating. Like, why couldn't she have had my stupid luck and gotten an operation before it spread like this? Why did she have to end up in this situation? Why not me? It must have been so friggin aggressive, that it could get to this point. Or maybe she just didn't notice because she was busy and, much like I, thought that her hormones were being silly? People don't understand how quickly this shit develops out of nothing. It's so unfair to Lucy. She's always seemed like such a lovely lady and she's very funny and likable. She doesn't deserve this fate. :(
Edit: forgot to add, that it is so true, what she says about how it is much harder on the family than it is on the sick person. That is also how I felt during my situation. My siblings were sick with worry and one of them has had a few therapy appointments because it hit them so hard. Meanwhile, I was somewhat at peace with it all. The only thing I could barely handle to think about was the scenario of my boyfriend coming home to our little house after everything was over and funeral was done and all the practical shit was over and he'd just be there, surrounded by the life we built together. All alone. I still can't think about that without crying. That hurts so badly to think that I could have done that to him.
So you make a movie that is like The Purge, but with sex instead of murder and then you cut out all the sex because "it takes you out of the movie"??
It's all fine and dandy that they only think about the big cities, but the problem is that the focus on public transport seem to be exclusively focused on big cities while those of us who live in rural areas are starved for public transport options.
I see they pick Copenhsgen among the places to praise public transport. Psh. Cool. I live in Jutland and my household was literally forced to buy a car after they cut the public transport budget in our city - again - and as a result, my boyfriend was forced to get up at 3 in the morning to be at work at 8. So, we bought a car because it was literally killing him and the limited time we had as a couple already, was pretty much eradicated.
Getting a car not only did wonders for his health, it also gave us our relationship a much needed boost because now he had the energy to actually be awake and do things with me, when he got home from work.
There are zero signs that public transport is a priority where we live and we aren't going back now. We did everything to depend on public transport and save the expense of having a car until we were in our 30s and the only reason we ended up buckling was because public transport was cut from our area. It wasn't only his bus route that was fucked with, btw. When I wanted to go see friends and family, the busses I used to take had been cut too and I suddenly had to take three trains and two busses to go see people who lived two to three hours away by car took me something around 6 hours to go on a 2 hours ride anywhere. One time they flat out canceled my bus home and I was stuck on a train station in Aarhus at midnight Nad would have to wait until 4 in the morning to get home. My boyfriend came and picked me up in the car and told me that from now on he'd drive me when I went because the last few trips I had taken had been disasters and this one had been the worst one yet. I had left for home, btw, at around 5 in the afternoon and wasn't home until 2 in the morning. That trio would have taken me 3 hours by car. Public transport forced me to be on the go for 9 hours and that is only because my boyfriend picked me up. If he hadn't done that, it would have been 13 hours.
That is unacceptable. And from what I have been told recently, public transport has only gotten worse in Denmark since. But I'm so happy for people in Copenhagen that they get to have busses, trains and metro that arrive every two minutes and take them anywhere they need to go. Must be nice.
Incendies by Denis Villeneuve. I know he's become a pretty big and successful director after he did Blade Runner and Dune, but Incendies is his best movie and an absolutely crazy ride. Twist after twist after twist until finally, you arrive at the final twist and you are not prepared. At all.
