The Deck is a regular computer and you can run any OS on it.
Not having firmware updates doesn't mean software suddenly stops working on it.

Is that even legal? Just holding your phone while driving can cost you a fine of €. 430 here.
Im amazed it took this long. We should start banning companies like visa and MasterCard. They should be completely neutral and not try to push USA conservative christian bullshit.
As a European i just see a bunch of clowns throwing a tantrum and ruining a country.
Sad for the people that have common sense and didn't vote for a clown/grifter. USA has real issues and I dont see then fixing it any time soon (coming 20 years).
When a regular person makes something available that shouldnt be behind a paywall to begin with it's stealing. When a billionaire or company uses ai to gather data from paid sources or just straight out plagiarises it's just maximising profits.
I've already settled on making lemmy my new home a long while ago. I like it here and there is more than enough engagement.
What i can't really find an alternative for is discord... it's going through the "enshittification fascism techbro" phase.
I tried matrix but honestly it sucks, Its so incredibly buggy it's barely even usable. I'm still willing to give it a try since it seems very promising but the instability is a big downside.
install app
"Do you agree to share your information with 289 of our partners or opt out by going through a list and deselecting them one by one"?
Yeah any app that asks this is guaranteed spyware.
Also, use F-Droid as much as possible. It's not perfect but still miles better than the play store
I hope to see free open source, non-big tech Linux OS for phones one day.
I wish phones were more like regular computers where you just buy a phone and then decide which OS you install. Or at least be able to change the OS.
While both of those are great software. Unless I'm not aware of something they aren't cloud/network based office suites like Google docs and office 365.
It seems this is an alternative to office software where you can work simultaneously and share documents in the same cloud/network.
I don't think there is an alternative to office 365 and Google docs at this point that is open source. So this seems like a great project and I'll definitely be considering it for our company.
Well this was 100% to be expected. Banning VPNs is next, then TOR and before you know it you have to scan your ID to even access the internet.
Say goodbye to the "free" internet. Say hello to Orwellian "state approved" internet.
