Do not be decieved by anyone telling you to soak your beans and discard the soaking water to reduce gas. That water contains valuable flavor and fiber. Farting is praxis people!

Hard disagree. The main reason we historically soak beans is to pick out any dead beans (beans that have unknown insects inside them) because those beans will float to the top, along with rinsing off dirt left on them. There is no reason to add dirt water to your beans, especially when you can use bean water to water your plants to use every part of the bean without using dirt water for no real reason. You still get plenty of oligosaccharides in your beans, any study I've seen says that the soak water takes out a negligible amount of nutrients.
