Edit: a friend just told me that not only did the guys only uncle not die in iraq, he was also never in the military and the guy entirely made it up just to try and shame me for making fun of veterans

There's a pretty decent chance they were killed out-of-combat in some kind of accident due to poor treatment of soldiers and lax safety regs. Which is funnier.
