I have a half-baked idea of using Che to push kids left in the way chuds use Teddy Roosevelt or Marcus Aurelius. Seriously, reading about Che it's almost like he's some fictional character come to life.
And I've always wanted to do some drunk hexbear posting, just never got around to it.
Similarly talking about Lenin's anarchist brother or Young Stalin or Yuri Gagarin inevitably makes people like the USSR more on account of it seeming really cool and for cool people.
I don't like a hero cult, but there's nothing wrong with admiring individuals.
Lenin had a real gigachad moment himself when he waited out a storm with one of the Cossacks who was hunting him and didn't recognize him
:doomer: "I'm never gonna find this Lenin guy, he's like a ghost or something. Watch yourself out there friend, he's dangerous."
:lenin-sure: "I will, brother. Thanks for your hospitality."
Everybody forgets about Mao escaping from the cops' custody like 3 times :(
I've been listening to the A People's History of Ideas podcast a lot. I didn't know much about Mao or the Chinese revolution before, but that man's life was an action movie.
Mao had irl plot armor ngl. Went from being the weird history dude at the equivalent of a 1900s DSA meeting of 20 people to being leader of the most populous country on earth
