I have been craving a game with lots of loot and lots of clicking, so I have been thinking about starting to play Grim Dawn, which just received a big update. Now, I'm asking the fine folks on Hexbear what they think about Grim Dawn in the year of our Lord 2023. Fun builds? Tips or tricks? Things I should know, etc.?

The new update is really good. Potions being a cool down skill is great.

The in-built evade can be a game changer as well. Loving it for giving my casters more mobility.

The beginners tips you find online still apply.

While leveling make sure you put points into your class's mastery bar. I normally do 2 points in mastery, one in an ability.

Choose one ability to max out first, rather than spreading points too far.

Choose one or two damage types to focus on.

Defense is often more important than offense.

Keep your health at at least your level * 100. Minimum.

Resistances are everything in the harder modes. They will also make your life much easier in the first mode. So it's worth figuring out the main damage types of the area you're in and use components to up those resistances.

Of the 3 attributes physique is often the most important for the health. The other 2 do give some health now. If I'm doing a caster for instance I do 2 points in physique and 1 on spirit. But I think the general advice is put it all in physique except what you need for equipping items.

Keep an eye on your defensive and offensive power. With defense make sure you can't be critted and for offense make sure you have a good hit %

All class combinations are viable. Some do better than others in the end game or are more gear dependent.

Everything can be reset (if you have all the DLCs) except your class choices. But you can often make max level without choosing a second class so there's no pressure.

It's easily one of my favourite games and each expansion so far has been great.

So much customisation through class combinations and items.

The new DLC is going to introduce another class so that's a lot more combinations on the way.
