Why does it seem like Americans are obsessed over home invasions? Do you have a lot of them? (hexbear.net)

Constantly see people online talk about "when the robber comes thru my door" or whatever, and some of it is memes, but a lot of it is just people legit discussing what the "best weapon" to fight robbers breaking into your house at night would be - Giving it so much thought as if it is a legitimate concern. So is it? Does it happen a lot?

but even that’s not something that all that common.

idk, it seems pretty common in my area. i started working "poor people jobs" like 2 years ago, and ive already heard directly about 3 home invasions against my coworkers in that time, and also one of my coworkers at one of those jobs told me about some old funny stories from back in his own home invading days, before he went to prison, got out, and stopped doing that sort of thing (allegedly)
