Anon is only a little strange
(thelemmy.club)
This is a place to share greentexts and witness the confounding life of Anon. If you're new to the Greentext community, think of it as a sort of zoo with Anon as the main attraction.
Be warned:
If you find yourself getting angry (or god forbid, agreeing) with something Anon has said, you might be doing it wrong.
Sounds perfect for streaming yourself playing early 1980s Atari 2600 games. The low quality video would be an element of immersion mimicking 1980s video tech.
You'd have to also try to emulate CRT screens to 'cut' the pixels up.
Ahh, that would be awesome...
I bet there's a filter you can put over your video stream that makes it look like a CRT
I know there's some for games, none work on linux though, that I know of. .-.
I'd need to get into that kind of retro content first (I'm more of a turn of the century PC games kind of person), but you're right, that resolution would be perfectly fine for older pixel graphics (assuming the streaming codec doesn't mangle it somehow)!
Having no basis for old Atari 2600 games would be an interesting premise for streaming. The audience could see you reactions as you see a game for the first time, puzzle out the controls, game strategy, and then the play through. Leverage your lack of knowledge and experience on it as part of the content.
