at this point in time, the reverberations of the enormous movement of peoples and technologies caused by ww2 must reach nearly every person alive. whoever goes back in time to kill hitler will almost certainly cease to exist when a grandfather doesn't fight overseas or get displaced to a new country where they met the grandmother.

In the Dark Tower, in book 7, Jake is trying to find Susannah under the Dixie Pig, in some kind of underground vault. He sees a sign of some sort on the window of a kiosk which says: "Visit September 11th 2001! Tix still available for this wonderful event! Asthmatics Prohibited w/o Dr's certificate."
