by 'loyal', does it mean being loyal to the corrupt capitalist state or the people around me?
It's a very complicated position in the Philippines because of the associated progressive nature of anti-imperialism, but I do lean not loyal in a sense that I will treat a country like any governing body, able to be criticized and democratically decided upon. I'm not jingoistic and chauvinistic about my country and would eventually want it be under a 'World Soviet Republic'.
Hm... Aren't the Philippines being armed right now to fight alongside the US and Japan in the upcoming Imperialist War? I'm confused.
Basically, if you're patriotic, according to our progressive movements, you're anti-US and anti-China, and the trapos (corrupt politicians) are being controlled by China (supposedly the Duterte side) and US (Marcos side).
Currently, the anti-China sentiment is strong but the anti-US, not so much, due to the current government, but it's growing with Pax Silica.
Though, yes, the US is still arming the Philippines and still has it's bases.
It's weird. Patriotism is being used as a rallying cry for all sides, but the most 'genuine' that doesn't rely on an external power, i.e. PRC or US, is the current progressive movement, and is by this, is anti-imperialist in nature, in my opinion.
