Look, I think if you look at my bio you'll quickly notice who I am, so whatever, I'll just provide my context as to why I'm here: (for the one who approved me, this will look very familiar, hah)

I've been coasting around lemm.ee and lemmy.zip for awhile, you might know me there as [redacted, I'm not exposing my alt here lol), but I've decided I want an account for mainly looking at leftist spaces, the big three: 'ml/grad/hexbear' and posting/commenting as one.

I figured it'd be cool to have a different username and also because I wanted to differentiate my tech/chill account from the left-centered account here, because it's way easier to manage having specifically here for left wing perspectives than going through .world/.ml/sdf/shtjstwrks communites. I know that a lot of people there, especially piefed have grievances to us leftists, and so I'd want to be able to publicly comment while keeping my politics to this account.

So the news is that someone at a UPI rally said that the AFP (the army of the Philippines) should pull back from the president because well.. we all know Marcos Jr. here is very much corrupt so, and if he doesn't want to, the army is the first of many to get support of to maintain that. But if I'm misinterpreting, here's the important bits:

Several speakers at the UPI rally at the People Power Monument in Quezon City on Sunday called on Marcos to resign or for the Armed Forces of the Philippines to withdraw support from the commander-in-chief.

“That’s close to inciting sedition, so we will investigate them. Those words have no place in civil society,” Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla said in an interview with reporters at Camp Crame in Quezon City.

“We will go for truth, accountability, and justice, and go through the due process, whoever needs to be held accountable for this,” he added.

While Remulla did not point to a particular statement at the UPI rally, Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI) host Jeffrey “Ka Eric” Celiz called on Marcos to resign.

Later in the program, he called on the AFP to withdraw its support from the chief executive, citing the military’s withdrawal of support from President Joseph Estrada during the 2001 EDSA revolt, which led to the latter’s ouster.

“All this will end in peace, legality, and constitutionality. If the Armed Forces of the Philippines withdraw support from Marcos, that is legal. That is legitimate,” Celiz said.

“The Armed Forces shall be the protector of the state and the people. And the people [are] not represented by Marcos. The state is not owned by Marcos. The government is not Marcos,” he added.

The statements were made at the UPI rally amid the organizers’ initial agreement with the Quezon City local government to refrain from “seditious statements.”

3RD of this, but there IS a reason why. I think this is the first non-AI version I found from someone. The lyrics are I think are good.. enough, (though definitely made by a lib-left type, since I think the poster is Canadian and has songs supporting the.. usual mainstream 'left' positions, i.e. Ukraine, EU) but yeah I just wanted to share a new version that's not AI. Okay, I know another version was posted, but I feel like this version is superior, even though (unfortunately) I think it's AI. As a HOI4 LARPer, I don't really care about the game balance but, when I looked at the focus tree, I saw that there are essentially four options: Historial 'Democratic' Pro-US Path (You can go Pro-Japan to be independent faster but you have to apparently balance it with the US, still the dem path), Fascist (Makapili) Path, which IMO is kinda weak and has to be this sort of weird alignment to hispanic culture (especially since they didn't put the Filipino Falange, yes, these guys exist.), the 'monarchist' path by getting a certain.. Emilio Aguinaldo, who is a known controversial figure infamous for ordering the execution of the Bonifacio brothers (some figures of the radical Philippine independence movement represented by the Magdiwang faction). He leads this weird Spanish-nostalgic path in the game, where you can get a monarch in charge of the Philippines again. Because of his.. 'symathies': (From Wikipedia, in the Independence Section)

Then, lastly the based communist path either by Crisanto Evangelista of the PKP, or Pedro Abad Santos and Luis Taruc of the Hukbalahap. Which I have nothing else to say other than this is supposedly a naval warfare dominant path because they (the paradox devs) thought that:

When the Philippines has managed to slip from the capitalist grasp, options open up- though this is one spot where fun and gameplay trumps history (a little). The communist movement in the Philippines was mostly a peasant one (similar to Communist China) rather than one of the workers, and while they did tend to have support from the fishermen, they were not the primary driver. In this version of Philippine Communism however, it is the fishermen who take the lead because I thought it a really interesting option to play as a naval communist nation, the nearest to which currently being Communist Norway.

Which.. ugh, It's.. fine, I guess. It's a sandbox historical simulation, I don't know much about pre-Independence communist movement in the Philippines to challenge this (which I'm trying to change btw) but yeah, it's the usual paradox historical bending to fit the gamified simulation.

Besides that, I'm not too sure of my opinions on the DLC (though.. ahem ahem, it's too expensive to buy and so 🏴‍☠️ that). It has new game balance I think? And that Communist China path that I would like to play too so.. I'll just see what happens because it releases somewhere this month (don't remember, haha).

Like these, I've been seeing a lot around the time of all-saints/all souls day for christians, in which in the Philippines, that usually is when they visit the cemeteries and graves of their deceased loved ones.

IMO, I don't know how to feel about them, something feels wrong, yet people have been using it.. moderately fine, and so I want to ask the hexbearians or just anyone else what y'all think of it?

So, I continued the game (with console commands) in HOI4 and won against Japan (and the PDTO, the successor to US-aligned countries before they collapsed in this mod, again, The Fire Rises. That is what you call the dream, right? The hope that we all dream of? Well.. I'll admit right now, this world I created ain't so perfect. Because, story time! Don't worry, I'll be quick;

So, first there is the.. Korea situation. I.. 'help' Kim restore unity in the korean peninsula;

And here are my enemies; Japan, India, Cambodia, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Australia and New Zealand.. Debate whether this is realistic or not lol.

After... a brutal landing in Japan, which I started in the Ryukyu Islands, then to Kyushu (South West of Japan), then Shikoku. I got bogged down due to intense defense and naval invasions my navy with like.. 2020 subs in a 2028 couldn't defend and I was bad at micro managing my futuristic air, focused on bombing the islands instead of doing naval warfare. I got angry, then invaded the Philippines, took a while to fully invade it due to Australia and India constantly naval-invading, forcing me to micro my units there.

The big defeat was the initial loss of Tibet to India and the loss of Pakistan as my units were ignored while I waged hell on Japan. And so, I formed a defense line there at the Himalayas, then focused on invading Japan from everywhere with the rest of my reserve divisions, and won after.. 2 years since the war started? Then the rest was cleanup as I moved my japan units to land at india, as well as some of my filipino units to finish it up, as India fell into chaos and civil war, then I cleanup at Malaya, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand then Papua New Guinea, in that order. The result was the original photo and these lovely photos;

So, the game was over, yes? Well, I had to do a few more console command tweaks before I left, and let the game pass for a bit more to have..

What you are looking at is my China Playthrough of the PRC that I.. had 'fun' with (used console commands, because I barely understand HOI4 that isn't LARPing as leftists and gaining super weapons lol) This is in The Fire Rises Mod right here, that features cool and weird paths and allows for these fun stuff to happen. is what I ended off with before I went to bed. Took me like, 6 hours, honestly, and I need some.. break from HOI4 afterwards, because being this obssessive over moving units around does not make for good creative work, but if you want, I can like... add more screenshots of the Americas, or Europe if you're curious on how that went.
