I mean just because something failed in the past doesn't necessarily mean it's impossible. Different strategies or different conditions could lead to different outcomes.
However, advocates for communism really need to do a better job of articulating how things will be different this time, rather than just advocating for the same failed ideas of the past.
But I agree it's not too likely to happen without a lot of really smart people working hard to trial different ideas in a non-dogmatic way. And I see no sign of willingness for that inside or outside of movements for communism.
