It's the deadline for when they can just appoint whoever they want to the office without holding a special election.
Beshear is going to play his part as a Polite Democrat, and not call their bluff. He should have declared the seat vacant, and appointed a Democrat, and forced MAGA to sue to stop him. Then they'd have to produce evidence if life.
That's what a MAGA would have done, and we have to fight fire with fire. This typically weak response means he's out of consideration when he tries to run for President in 2028. I'm looking for Democratic Warriors, not the same old weak weenies we've always had. I want strong Dems who will enthusiastically, actively, and ferociously attack MAGA at EVERY opportunity.
This was a big opportunity, and they just let it slide by. All it would have taken was some balls, and some courage, and Beshear proved that he has neither.
They serve the same master, I want to live in that world too where there are functioning parties that represent the people, but It doesn't exist and probably never did. Let's move on from playing the game they want us to play and focus on killing the rich.
They really do. I like to use the analogy of a company with two teams. One is run by a manager that everyone loves, he's a great guy, brings donuts to the meetings, asks about your family, etc.
The other team is run by an asshole, that makes every minute at work miserable, and everybody that works for him hates them.
Two different managers, two wildly different approaches, but make no mistake, they BOTH work for the same company, and both have the same agenda and objectives, they're just approaching it differently.
That's the Corpo-Establishment Dems, and the MAGAs, serving the same Sociopathic Oligarch masters, and making us feel like they're on our side.
No, the seat would remain vacant starting tomorrow. It was the deadline for a runoff, but the seat just won't be filled if he were to die tomorrow.
