- Comics should be a full story, from start to finish, in one post.
- Posts should be safe and enjoyable by the majority of community members, both here on lemmy.world and other instances.
- Any comic that would qualify as raunchy, lewd, or otherwise draw unwanted attention by nosy coworkers, spouses, or family members should be tagged as NSFW.
- Moderators have final say on what and what does not qualify as appropriate. Use common sense, and if need be, err on the side of caution.

🧬 Keep it Real
- Comics should be made and posted by real human beans, not by automated means like bots or AI. This is not the community for that sort of thing.

📽️ Credit Where Credit is Due
- Comics should include the original attribution to the artist(s) involved, and be unmodified. Bonus points if you include a link back to their website. When in doubt, use a reverse image search to try to find the original version. Repeat offenders will have their posts removed, be temporarily banned from posting, or if all else fails, be permanently banned from posting.
- Attributions include, but are not limited to, watermarks, links, or other text or imagery that artists add to their comics to use for identification purposes. If you find a comic without any such markings, it would be a good idea to see if you can find an original version. If one cannot be found, say so and ask the community for help!

- Post an image, gallery, or link to a specific comic hosted on another site; e.g., the author's website.
- Meta posts about the community should be tagged with [Meta] either at the beginning or the end of the post title.
- When linking to a comic hosted on another site, ensure the link is to the comic itself and not just to the website; e.g.,

- Each user (regardless of instance) may post up to five (5 🖐) comics a day. This can be any combination of personal comics you have written yourself, or other author's comics. Any comics exceeding five (5 🖐) will be removed.

- Non-English posts are welcome. Please tag the post title with the original language, and include an English translation in the body of the post; e.g.,

No. But I didn't question that. I just don't care if this music I like was made by AI, Adolf Hitler or Or two gay penguins. I value art for what it is to me, not what someone wants it to be. I don't look behind the curtain.
Nah. I am the living proof. I consume the front, pay for it (mostly) and everyone is happy. And behold! The artist is still there, even without me caring. Might he do whatever he does to create the stuff I like.
An artist who is a terrible person draws from those elements that make him a terrible person to make art. If you're selectively choosing to ignore where that comes from then you yourself are a terrible person.
However, you have already more or less admitted that by saying you do nothing but consume.
So, you, a very smart person, would only admire art, for which you exactly, and personally, know the artists intentions, moral compass and general ethics? That does not only sound pretentious but also hypocritical and deeply impractical.
As if you'd know every artists fucking life-story. And, by your logic, you mustn't consume otherwise. Missing knowledge doesn't protect.
And yes, I only consume. What else do you do with a e.g. painting? Rub one out in front of it? Pray to the art-god? Write letters of admiration to the artist, scented with your perfume? I just hang it on the wall and admire it for what it is. Art.
Also...a bit simplistic to just assume a "terrible person" draws exclusively from terrible sources to create art. As if people are black or white. And also, who on this earth is not a terrible person in the end? How clean and "good" are you hm? Do you spend every minute to help those less fortunate than you? Do you not profit from childlabour and slavery when purchasing goods that aren't made by your neighbor while you were watching? Thought so.
As if not being a religious bigot, sexist, abuser, fascist, apartheid apologist, corporate bootlicker, or war criminal is such a high bar.
