658 employees of Cantor Fitzgerald were killed in the 9/11 attacks. Howard Lutnick coincidentally did not show up to work that day.

In December 2013, Howard Lutnick sued American Airlines for $135 million for failing to prevent their plane from crashing into his company office. People thought that he was going to share the money with employees' families but he kept it all for himself.
