Context: Garum has been featured in several memes in this channel already. But in case you didn't know, it's a sauce made from fermented fish that Romans loved to put on all of their food.

Judging by what little I know about fish sauce (roman, thai or otherwise), the process seems more similar to east asian fish sauce. Fish isn't even really the main aroma in Worcestershire sauce.
