Nationalism + stopping inflation (it currently dropped to a pleasant 32,0 %, and stayed there for a year) through shock doctrine. Much like in the post-Soviet states, it collapsed industry.
Forgive me for being ignorant, but, uh, isn't that fucking bad for a country like Argentina? There must be skyrocketing poverty and unemployment.
Unemployment is supposedly stable, and poverty is actually supposedly dropping, which is most likely caused by the lower inflation.
Though the numbers are sketchy and dependent on narrative - either from supporters trying to portray his government as extremely successful or detractors.
The de-industrialization seems to be uncontested data.
