It's actually perfectly in line with the ultraliberal ideology if not with the populist elements of his politics.

Selling the country down the river while getting rich was the game plan I'm pretty sure. I'm no econ expert but they also did a crypto rugpull, so it seems to be their modus operandi.

Nationalism + stopping inflation (it currently dropped to a pleasant 32,0 %, and stayed there for a year) through shock doctrine. Much like in the post-Soviet states, it collapsed industry.

Unemployment is supposedly stable, and poverty is actually supposedly dropping, which is most likely caused by the lower inflation.

Though the numbers are sketchy and dependent on narrative - either from supporters trying to portray his government as extremely successful or detractors.

The de-industrialization seems to be uncontested data.
