- Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

Imagine if he were doing literally any other job. How ridiculous it would be for him not to have retired yet
I don't even really understand why people like that cling to power the way they do.
They're literally dying on the job. Don't they want to retire? Spend their money a bit?
They're not even a dictator where everyone and their mother will come after the scraps of the kingdom when they show weakness.
These people are basically retired. Their primary activity is fundraising, which is talking to the same few hundred people for the last 30 years. Helping constituents is handled by the office, so are policy decisions. They actually work for a few days a quarter, and the perks more than compensate for it.
This right here. When work isn't actual work and you just go for meals and social outing's or golf days its better than retirement
It’s not just a job anymore, it’s their entire identity. We all work with people like this at some point. The job is all they are, they have nothing else outside of that. Add the control fetish so many of them have and they cannot leave.
Hell, I retired at 55 so I could enjoy the rest of my life and I’m just upper white trash!
