If taking away voting is a tool of oppression, then that means voting has value.

[-] Goferking0@ttrpg.network 1 points 5 days ago

Vote DNC they might let you kick the ball.

Vote Republican they are going to kick you and your friends.

Vote third party, get to watch people play with the ball without you.

Don't vote, get to watch people play the ball without you.

Sorry, but as things are, yeah, sucks, but given the four options...

Going back to your earlier points, you already admitted it doesn't. Just gives the appearance of it. The GOP removing voting abilities from minorities is just to help get them to believe like in the olden days they're superior. Just like having segregated areas it's just to show appearance of power.

GOP doesn't care how bad it makes them look as it may give them more support from their extremely racist base

[-] agent_nycto@lemmy.world 1 points 5 days ago

And the support from the base is directly tied to the votes they need to get into power.

I didn't admit voting was useless, the point of those is that voting has power, and you have to choose carefully how you use that power. Are you going to have the sword directly to your enemies, let them take it, or use it against them?

If you're tired of fighting at least don't try to have other people give up the good fight.

Please enlighten me on who is actually fighting?

Again you've said only the dems are worth voting for. Voting for anyone else is a waste yet dems are happy to leave things as they are

Would you rather vote for someone who leaves things as they are, or someone who actively wants to make things worse and kill minorities?

Sorry that "leaves things alone" isn't good enough for you and you'll throw all the trans kids under the bus, but personally I don't want Republicans in power so I'll do what it takes to keep them out of power, even if that means I have to vote for a spineless Democrat

Again that's what Kamala Harris campaigned on in 2024.

And we've come full circle on the memes point. DNC stays in power by saying we'll totally do something this time but do nothing. Including refusing to undo what republicans implemented.

We're going around in circles at this point, so tell me what your alternative is, with the situation we are in

[-] Goferking0@ttrpg.network 0 points 4 days ago

It's pretty clear there isn't a solution in regards to voting.

I'd say vote 3rd party but you're already saying that's the same as doing nothing. Honestly you did 4 points of nothing changing by voting.

But again this is literally the meme.

vote for the dnc, maybe this time they'll let you kick the ball

[-] agent_nycto@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

Well then if it's pointless may as well make it a little harder and annoying for Republicans

[-] Goferking0@ttrpg.network 1 points 4 days ago

Which is the opposite of what in the majority of democrats in office want to do.

Hell this month Obama was even saying the republicans need to be strong.

If only there was a way to pick which Democrat you'd like... Like with a primary vote or something...
