Yeah. Being woke requires you to be aware of what is happening.
Superman just shows up, and says "TIME TO SAVE PEOPLE!!!". But he in general doesn't know anything.
To be woke, he'd need knowledge of WHY the orphanage is on fire. He just happened to be flying around, saw a fire, and saved the orphans.
He'd be much angrier if he knew the orphanage was on fire because state legislatures cut funding to support the orphanage all so some dipship govenor can buy a 6th yacht.
I mean... he is also a reporter and a genius. Chances are he's well aware of inequalities.
Superman got his start beating up slum lords. That's not a joke. Superman started out as the sort of guy who rooted out corruption. The "aw, shucks" version of Superman is both a bit of a later development (and also kind of the persona that he takes on as Clark Kent)
The Netflix 'daredevil' season 1 really did a much better version of this.
He’s all too aware. As powerful as he is, he doesn’t have the ability to solve everyone’s problems everywhere all the time. This is a source of tremendous grief for him. That’s the whole reason he’s a compelling character and not just wish fulfillment.
I mean, ge did try to solve all the problems once, that lead to the injustice story.
The latest one smashed a few planes and tanks, and dropped a dictator on a cactus. I don't think he was just stopping by for a rescue.
I didn't know superman had wings and swung a mace around.
She dropped him on a roof from high up. He was more gentle.
He was fighting a billionaire and got his friends to do it.
