I saw this happen firsthand in my city when the YMCA shutdown their downtown location from the 60s and built a new one in the suburbs. It's like the one in the image here and it does suck. The culture has noticeably shifted and it's more isolated, less communal. Also they pipe music in from the ceiling.
It would've happened regardless. I've been going to gyms since the 90s and nudity in locker rooms was very common up until the 2010s. The last time I saw a dong in the locker room was around 2015 or so. Less people shower in the gyms nowadays, and when they do they are vigilant about covering with a towel. There used to be a stereotype about old men that would blowdry their balls in open view of everyone and it really was true. They'd also start conversations with everyone while doing it like it was the most normal thing in the world. But they just all suddenly...disappeared. I wonder what happened to all of them.
Tbh, it is / should be normal. They're just genitals, you've got em too, there's no reason to make it weird. I know wrinkly saggy old dude balls aren't pretty, but neither are wrinkly saggy old dude jowls and you're not gonna expect him to cover those up
They died or got too old to go to the gym.
They're blow drying their balls in heaven or the retirement home now 😢
I used to work in a tire factory where we had paid shower time at the end of the shift. I had many communal showers with fat old chatting my ear off
Those guys were so funny. Was the towel not working for your balls man? Are you cruising poorly right now? No I didn't watch the game last weekend.
For me, they disappeared with the old location and never reappeared at the new one.
It also went from sauna & steam rooms in each locker room to just a single co-ed one each, on the pool deck. A big downgrade for my partner who really doesn't want random guys talking to her in the sauna.
those poor guys all have jock itch now because their balls are not adequately dried
