The first thing, right off the top of my head:
There's a lot more, but that's the first thing I remembered. Think of the advancements in solar energy, vaccines, cripsr, and literacy, and you'll be on the right track.
They havent adjusted the poverty line for cost of living in a very long time so I'd challenge that there are less poor people now. There might actually be more.
