He's a reverse "separate the art from the artist" to me. Wonderful guy in interviews, "Shape of You" makes me want to rip my own spine out.
Shape of You is horrible but listen to Songs I Wrote With Amy, +, Loose Change, or X, and he's incredibly talented.
My school brought us in for a presentation of some sort and at one point they tried to convince us that "Shape of You" is a respectful and progressive way to talk about women
I love Ed 😭
I think its that case of 'the album that came out in highschool will be your favourite' Divide is great, every album before and after that I couldn't finish.
That's funny because Divide was my least favourite album of his, and it came out when I was in high school. Everything before Divide > everything after Divide > Divide.
I guess it's really... divisive.
I've actually taught a few of his songs on guitar. Shivers, Bad Habits and Perfect, I think
Never got the Sheeran bug myself though
Thinking out loud is 1 of the 2 songs I can play on guitar
I really like that aspect of his music because you can learn his songs in a really simple way on guitar and it's fine, or you can learn the really complicated way and it elevates the piece.
